Rú Chá is located in Thuận Hoà village, Hương Phong commune, about 15 km east of the center of Huế city (Thừa Thiên - Huế province). The mangrove forest covers an area of ​​approximately 5.8 hectares. This is one of the remaining mangrove ecosystems in the Tam Giang - Cầu Hai lagoon (the largest brackish water lagoon in Southeast Asia).
