From April to May of the lunar calendar each year, Mount Cam enters its peak strawberry harvesting season. Following the winding trails from Vo Dau, Vo Thien Tue to Vo Bo Hong on Mount Cam, you'll see lush strawberry gardens everywhere. From afar, you'll see plump, abundant clusters of strawberries covering the trees.
There are some old strawberry plants, their branches and leaves almost disappearing, replaced by the golden yellow or glossy green of ripe strawberries. Anyone passing through a strawberry garden at this time of year will find it hard to look away from this abundant and sweet sight.

Many elderly people living on Mount Cam say that in the past, locals used to grow wild mulberries for personal consumption or to offer to guests. Recognizing that the mulberry tree thrived in the soil of the Bay Nui region , was easy to cultivate, and produced abundant fruit, people began bringing in more mulberry varieties from other places to cultivate, increasing its economic value. Gradually, the area of mulberry orchards expanded, transforming the area into the "mulberry capital" of the Bay Nui region.
According to Mr. Tran Hoang Anh (residing in Vo Dau hamlet, Nui Cam commune), currently, gardeners on the mountain are cultivating four main mulberry varieties: bon bon mulberry, Ha Chau mulberry, Gia Bao green mulberry, and Nui Cam green mulberry; among them, bon bon mulberry and Gia Bao green mulberry are dominant due to their superior yield and rich flavor.

A 10-year-old mulberry tree can yield 200-400 kg of fruit per year, providing a considerable source of income for the people of Cam Mountain.

"The Vo Dau hamlet area near Thuy Liem lake has a year-round water source, so it has the highest concentration of strawberry gardens. Cam Mountain strawberries are distinctly different from lowland strawberries because they carry the essence of the forest soil and the cool, pure air of the high mountain sun and wind, resulting in a richer aroma, less sourness, and a uniquely delicate sweetness," Mr. Hoang Anh shared.

If planted and cared for properly, mulberry trees will bear fruit after only 3 years. For trees around 10 years old, the yield can reach 200-400 kg/tree/year. If the season is favorable, with an area of about 5,000 m² of land planted with mulberries, the owner can earn hundreds of millions of VND each year.
