Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Ta Duc Minh emphasized that AEON Group has always strived to promote investment in Vietnam and the import and export of goods between the two countries. In particular, it has successfully introduced Vietnamese products into AEON's supermarket system in Vietnam, Japan, and worldwide.
Also at the ceremony, Ms. Mitsuko Tsuchiya stated: “ The Vietnam Week program has been organized by AEON since 2017 and is now in its eighth year. Every year, we receive great expectations from our customers. We were the first to sell Vietnamese lychees in Japan in 2020. By 2023, we were the first to sell longan in Japan, bringing delicious products from Vietnam to Japanese customers. This year, we are introducing very popular fruits such as lychees, longan, and bananas, along with fish dishes. Vietnam has a long coastline like Japan, so fish dishes are very diverse. Not only that, we also want to introduce Vietnamese coffee-based desserts and a variety of Vietnamese food products .”

Besides showcasing authentic Vietnamese culture, the event also provides Japanese customers with the opportunity to experience the "authentic feel" of delicious Vietnamese cuisine. This is not only attractive to international tourists but also an essential part of Vietnamese life. Through Vietnam Week, AEON hopes to increase Japanese customers' understanding of Vietnamese products, food, and culture, thereby fostering their love for Vietnam and its people.
The 2024 Vietnam Week at AEON Japan brought together over 35 reputable suppliers nationwide, showcasing signature Vietnamese dishes, culinary ingredients, and "Vietnamese" menus adapted to "Japanese meals." Key product categories this year included "Vietnamese banh mi"—a popular Japanese product, "Vietnamese rice paper," and tropical fruits. In addition, the event offered customers familiar and beloved specialty items such as agricultural products, seafood, dried foods, household goods, and health care products.
Furthermore, AEON is proud to offer its customers TOPVALU private label products made with ingredients sourced from Vietnam, such as: Vietnamese beef offal porridge; grilled mackerel; grilled sweet potatoes; frozen mangoes; Vietnamese cashews…
In addition, the organizers also introduced recipes and menus featuring delicious Vietnamese dishes, allowing Japanese customers to prepare their favorite meals at home.
With its innovative and engaging experiences, Vietnam Trade Week 2024 promises to attract a large number of Japanese people, contributing to the promotion of cultural exchange between the two countries, thereby helping Japanese customers appreciate and increase their consumption of Vietnamese products.
