With over 50,000 customers participating in the "trade-in" program, and thousands of customers receiving free vegetables for using eco-friendly bags, the "Vietnamese Family - Green Ambassador" program is increasingly spreading green, responsible, and sustainable consumption habits within the community.
Exchange your old items for fresh vegetables and get deep discounts!
In the last days of June, the atmosphere at Co.opmart Rach Mieu (Phu Nhuan District, Ho Chi Minh City) became more lively than usual. The "Trade-in" area continuously welcomed customers carrying all kinds of used household appliances such as rice cookers, electric kettles, blenders, electric fans, etc., to participate in the exchange program.
Bringing in her rice cooker, which she had used for nearly seven years, Ms. Trinh Ngoc Ha (38 years old, housewife) shared: "My rice cooker is still usable, but it consumes a lot of electricity and the buttons keep switching off. Seeing the Co.opmart fanpage post about the 'Vietnamese Family - Green Ambassador' program, I immediately gathered my old rice cookers to exchange."
After a few minutes of checkout, Ms. Ha happily chose a brand-new rice cooker at half the price. "I saved almost 300,000 dong. I got a new one, it's lightweight, and I don't have to throw it in the trash – it's a real bargain!" she said with a smile.
Besides exchanging old items, the supermarket also encourages customers to practice a green lifestyle by using reusable cloth bags when shopping. In the produce section, Mr. Tran Quoc Huy (30 years old, a design employee) was surprised to receive 2kg of fresh vegetables, including carrots and bok choy, as a gift when he paid over 1 million VND and brought his own reusable cloth bag.
"My bill exceeded the limit and I used a reusable bag, so I was invited to visit the 'Green Refill' area. At first, I thought it was just an interactive activity, but it turned out to be a real promotion," he said with a laugh.
Mr. Huy said this was the first time he had seen such a practical vegetable giveaway program. "Co.opmart gave us exactly the kind of vegetables my family usually eats. The vegetables are clean, fresh, and ready to cook right away," he shared.
Meanwhile, Bui Minh Chau (36 years old, office worker) went to the supermarket with the goal of "hunting" for large-volume promotions to save money.
After checking her shopping list on her phone, she put a 3.8-liter bottle of fabric softener into her shopping cart. "This kind normally costs nearly 284,000 VND, but now it's only about 199,000 VND. It lasts the whole family for about two months, saving money and reducing the amount of bottles discarded into the environment," she shared.
On Ms. Chau's cart, there are also 2kg bottles of chili sauce, 9kg cans of floor cleaner, and 3.2kg bottles of dishwashing liquid. According to Ms. Chau, these products are chosen based on criteria such as frequent use, large volume, and minimal packaging waste.
"I've always been used to buying large-sized items, but when supermarkets have promotions that meet my needs and are linked to an environmental protection message, it gives me even more reason to buy," Ms. Chau explained.
"Green change - shock reduction" across the entire Saigon Co.op system.
According to a representative from Saigon Co.op, the "Vietnamese Family - Green Ambassador" program is entering its peak phase at more than 800 retail outlets belonging to the Ho Chi Minh City Commercial Cooperative Union (Saigon Co.op) system, including Co.opmart, Co.opXtra, Co.op Food, Co.opSmile, Cheers, etc.
With a focus on "green consumption," supermarkets are launching a series of promotional policies for green products and encouraging environmentally friendly lifestyles from now until July 2nd.
The highlight of the series of activities was the "Trade-in" program, which recorded over 50,000 participants in a short period of time. Instead of throwing away old household appliances such as rice cookers, blenders, induction cookers, or electric fans, consumers brought them to supermarkets to exchange for new products with discounts of up to 50%.
In parallel, the "Green Refill" program continues with practical benefits. Member customers who spend 500,000 VND or more and use their own eco-friendly bags will receive 1 to 2 kg of fresh fruits and vegetables as a gift.
In addition, the supermarket is also offering a range of large-capacity "family-size" products, allowing customers to buy more at a lower cost while minimizing packaging waste. Products participating in the program include rice, yogurt, soft drinks, shampoo, fabric softener, laundry detergent, etc., with special discounts ranging from 15,900 to 297,000 VND per item.
"This is not only a suitable option for large families but also meets the needs of collective customer groups, restaurants, or charitable kitchens," a representative from Saigon Co.op stated.
From June 26th to July 2nd, the "Fresh and Delicious Every Day - Maximum Savings" program continues to offer discounts of 15% to 40% on many fresh produce items, processed foods, and regional specialties such as Snow Beef, Tafa Plus chicken eggs, CP chicken drumsticks, white pomfret, squid, various fruits, Western-style banana sticky rice, vegetarian lotus seed rice, chicken soup with sour leaves, etc.
Specifically, from June 27th to 29th, Co.opmart and Co.opXtra are launching the "Super Deals - Weekend Mega Deals" program with prices ranging from only 10,000 to 187,000 VND per product, exclusively for gold and platinum members. Discounted products include fabric softener, laundry detergent, sausages, ST25 rice, condensed creamer, fruit juices, beer, nutritional supplements, and more.
In particular, the "Shopping Season 2025 - Shop to Your Heart's Content" shopping extravaganza is currently in full swing with a series of deep discounts up to 54% or buy-one-get-one-free programs on many essential consumer goods, household items, kitchenware, fashion , and cosmetics from reputable domestic and international brands such as Co.op Select, Ticook, Elmich, Thien Hoang, Honeyland, Neptune, Nutifarm, Tsubaki, PH...
Over 16,000 cutlery items were exchanged after three months of collecting stamps.
From now until June 29th, the Saigon Co.op retail system continues to implement its exclusive "Collect Stamps to Redeem Gifts" program, giving away RoyalVKB ( Netherlands ) brand knife sharpeners to member customers with invoices of 500,000 VND or more who redeem at least one product from the promotional category.
Each supermarket will limit the number of knife sharpeners to 50 per day, applicable to the first customers who meet the redemption criteria within the program's timeframe.
According to the summary after 3 months of implementing the stamp collection program, the two leading products in terms of redemption volume are kitchen scissors with over 10,000 products and Santoku knives with over 6,000 products chosen by customers. These are items from the RoyalVKB kitchen knife collection that are sought after by consumers thanks to their modern design and high quality.
To quickly own your favorite products or a complete 6-piece kitchen knife set including: kitchen scissors, paring knife, chef's knife, Santoku knife, slicing knife and wooden cutting board, customers can accumulate reward stamps faster by purchasing products from partner brands such as Anh Hong, Vinamilk, Abbott, Strong Bow and Heineken at sales points within the Saigon Co.op system.
