This is a remarkable achievement, especially considering that in 2025, Thai Nguyen was severely affected by the historic floods caused by the remnants of Typhoon No. 11, resulting in significant damage to tea plantations.
To achieve the goal of making tea a "billion-dollar crop," along with increasing acreage and production by boosting tea production in all four seasons of the year, localities in the province are focusing on improving the quality of tea products. The province has implemented many mechanisms and policies to encourage people to produce tea that meets safety standards.
As a result, by the end of 2025, the entire province will have over 6,440 hectares of tea certified under Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and equivalent standards (an increase of 652 hectares compared to the previous year), and over 125 hectares of tea meeting organic standards (an increase of 4 hectares).
With the goal of increasing the area, yield, and economic value of tea plants, in 2026, the province plans to plant and replant over 386 hectares of tea (including 169 hectares of new planting and over 217 hectares of replanting); striving to achieve a fresh tea leaf production of 285,000 tons; and increasing the area of tea plants granted planting area codes...
