From December 26th to 31st, the "Ninh Thuan Food Festival - Welcoming the New Year 2024" will take place at the April 16th Square area in Phan Rang - Thap Cham city, Ninh Thuan province.

This is the first-ever culinary and cultural event held in Ninh Thuan province, aiming to introduce and promote the unique dishes of localities within Ninh Thuan province, regions across the country, and countries around the world ; to create a joyful and exciting atmosphere to welcome the new year 2024; to provide a space for experiencing and enjoying culinary culture for local people, domestic and international tourists; and to create a strong ripple effect to promote tourism and cuisine in Ninh Thuan, building a distinctive Ninh Thuan culinary brand rich in the cultural identity of the ethnic groups in the province.
At the "Ninh Thuan Food Festival - Welcoming the New Year 2024," locals and tourists will immerse themselves in a diverse, attractive, and unique culinary culture, with over 80 food stalls and booths displaying OCOP products, specialty products of Ninh Thuan province and other localities nationwide; experience and enjoy over 100 delicious and unique dishes; witness firsthand cooking demonstrations by famous chefs; watch video clips promoting the image of Ninh Thuan's characteristic raw material areas such as grapes, apples, seafood, oysters, goats, sheep, asparagus... and visit booths and stalls displaying OCOP products, specialty products, kitchen-related tools and equipment, and ingredients for food preparation…
Within the framework of the "Ninh Thuan Food Festival - Welcoming the New Year 2024," several new and attractive activities will take place, such as: a sheep parade; lion and dragon dances, street art performances; games and culinary activities; and a talent competition for star chefs specializing in Ninh Thuan sheep and oysters.
Ninh Thuan - A land where unique values converge.
Ninh Thuan is a locality with many potentials and advantages; it possesses unique and distinctive culture, products, and natural resources that can be used to develop tourism into a leading and sustainable economic sector.
Ninh Thuan is located at the intersection of national transportation routes; it has National Highway 1A and the North-South railway; it boasts a long and beautiful coastline of over 105km with pristine beaches, diverse marine ecosystems, and warm, sunny weather year-round; and it has a very beautiful and convenient coastal road connecting destinations along the Ninh Thuan province's coastal strip.
At the same time, this province also boasts a colorful cultural landscape with unique tangible and intangible cultural heritage such as: Cham cultural art with its folk songs, Cham dances, traditional crafts and customs, and typical religious rituals of the Cham people such as the Katê Festival; My Nghiep handcrafted brocade weaving; the oldest pottery village in Southeast Asia, Bau Truc; and the Po Klong Garai Tower and Hoa Lai Tower, recognized as special national monuments.
Notably, on November 29, 2022, UNESCO officially inscribed "Cham pottery art" on the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding. This event was announced by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as one of the 10 outstanding cultural, sports and tourism events of 2022.
The province boasts numerous famous historical and cultural relics; a diverse and rich marine, forest, and coral reef ecosystem with wild, romantic natural landscapes; and many historical sites that have been classified at the national level (Ninh Thuan currently has 239 intangible cultural heritage sites, 18 national heritage sites, and 46 provincial heritage sites); it also has two national parks, Phuoc Binh and Nui Chua, which retain the characteristics of pristine forests with diverse and rich plant ecosystems, with Nui Chua being recognized by UNESCO as a world biosphere reserve. Furthermore, Vinh Hy Bay in Ninh Thuan is also classified as a national scenic site and is one of the eight most beautiful bays in Vietnam.
With its year-round sunny and warm climate, Ninh Thuan has a natural advantage in developing high-yield, high-quality crops and livestock that have become local specialties, such as green asparagus, apples, garlic, goats, and sheep. In particular, grapes and grape products have flourished, making Ninh Thuan the "grape capital " of the country.
In order to develop tourism comprehensively, making it a key economic sector and a driving force for the province's socio-economic development, Ninh Thuan's tourism industry has set specific development directions for the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030. The goals set for 2025 are for Ninh Thuan's tourism industry to fundamentally become a key economic sector, striving to attract 3.5 million visitors, generating revenue of approximately 2,900 billion VND, and contributing 13% to the province's GRDP; and by 2030, for Ninh Thuan's tourism industry to truly become a key economic sector, attracting 6 million visitors and contributing 15% to the province's GRDP. In 2023, Ninh Thuan welcomed over 2.9 million tourists; and in 2024, the target is to reach 3.2 million visitors.
In recent years, Ninh Thuan has focused on promoting the exploitation of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries in conjunction with tourism activities. Examples include: Dong Hai fishing port, Dam Nai lagoon, Vinh Hy bay, Thai An grape village, Phuoc Thuan commune grape village, fruit orchards in Lam Son and Phuoc Binh communes, An Hoa sheep farm, etc. Along with the application of high technology in developing green asparagus cultivation in Tuan Tu village and aloe vera gardens in Van Hai ward, this has created many products with high nutritional value, serving as ingredients for dishes characteristic of Ninh Thuan province.
The combination of cuisine and tourism has created a rich and unique tourism product system, from cultivation, harvesting, and processing to experiences... contributing to enhancing the value chain of agricultural, forestry, and fishery production, creating jobs, increasing income for workers, building and developing the Ninh Thuan culinary brand, and helping to attract tourists to Ninh Thuan.
