Cam Lo district has an average rice cultivation area of approximately 1,700 hectares per crop. In recent years, the district has consistently focused on collaborating with businesses to produce organic rice and practice natural farming. However, the area under this collaboration remains small; the entire district currently has only 60 hectares under partnership with Quang Tri General Trading Corporation.
According to the plan, starting from the 2024-2025 winter-spring crop season, Cam Lo district will develop an additional 100 hectares of organic, naturally cultivated rice.

To achieve the set goals, the Cam Lo District People's Committee is currently requiring communes and towns to review planning, select and propose priority areas for organic rice production and natural farming, ensuring conditions such as proactive irrigation, flat fields, and prioritizing areas that have undergone land consolidation and exchange...
Specifically for the communes of Cam Hieu, Cam Thuy, and Thanh An, each commune must have at least 35 hectares of naturally cultivated rice; the remaining communes will implement this depending on the actual situation of their localities.
