The head of HoSE resigned from his position to study abroad.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE), based on the approval of the Vietnam Stock Exchange, the Chairman of HoSE issued Decision No. 66 regarding Mr. Nguyen Vu Quang Trung's resignation from the position of Deputy General Director of HoSE to pursue a fixed-term study abroad. The decision is effective from November 4, 2023.

Mr. Nguyen Vu Quang Trung, born in 1974, holds a Master's degree in Financial Economics from the University of NewSouth Wales (Australia). Prior to assuming his position at HoSE in August 2017, he worked at various financial institutions such as the State Bank of Vietnam, the State Securities Commission, and the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX).

After Mr. Trung resigned, the HoSE executive board consisted of Ms. Tran Anh Dao - Deputy General Director in charge and Ms. Ngo Viet Hoang Giao - Deputy General Director.

Previously, in September 2023, rumors circulated in the market about the resignation of HoSE's leadership. Immediately afterward, HoSE's leadership issued a statement denying the rumors.

However, the stock market still fell sharply on September 22nd. Even in the following days, the VN-Index dropped significantly and continued its downward trend until the end of October .
