Inspectors of the Department of Information and Communications of Can Tho city have just issued a document reminding mobile telecommunications businesses to pay attention, strengthen inspection, and manage the provision of mobile subscriber information. 

According to the Inspector of the Department of Information and Communications of Can Tho, on the telecommunications network system, there is a situation where some bad people use mobile subscriptions from the carriers VinaPhone, Viettel, MobiFone, Vietnamobile... impersonating leaders of ministries, branches, City leaders, leaders of departments and branches. 

These impersonators call individuals and organizations in the Can Tho area with fake announcements about violations of the law. After that, the subject transferred the phone number believed to belong to the authorities and police, requiring the victim to contact them to work, open an account, and transfer money, with the aim of defrauding, appropriating, and causing psychological harm. confusion in public opinion.

To prevent and take measures to handle the above violations, Can Tho Department of Information and Communications notifies and requests telecommunications service providers in the area to strengthen inspection, review, management, and screening. Filter and provide mobile subscriber information according to regulations.

Businesses are also requested to pay attention and take technical measures to strictly manage subscriber numbers that are currently experiencing many violations.

Specifically, these numbers include 081, 082, 083, 084, 085, 088, 094 of VinaPhone, 032, 033, 034, 035, 036, 037, 038, 039, 086, 097 of Viettel; 070, 076, 077, 078, 079, 089, 093 of MobiFone, 052, 056, 058 of Vietnamobile and 087 of Indochina Telecom Joint Stock Company.

The Department of Information and Communications of Can Tho city recommends that telecommunications businesses immediately stop providing services to mobile subscribers who are reported or accused of violating the law.

Inspectors of the Can Tho Department of Information and Communications requested VNPT to provide information about the subscriber's full name, copy of ID card/CCCD, portrait photo, and time of registration and activation. The information provided also includes recent locations of regular broadcasts and specific information about the 8 named subscribers. 

Can Tho Department of Information and Communications requests businesses to stop providing services and recall these 8 subscriber numbers to the number warehouse to ensure that fraudulent violations do not continue to occur. Information reflected by the subscriber (if any) needs to be contacted with the Inspectorate of the Department of Information and Communications to resolve according to regulations. 

According to the Inspector of the Department of Information and Communications of Can Tho City, through management, this unit realized that there are still many junk SIMs, especially with numbers 081, 082, 083, 084, 085, 088. These are 11-digit SIMs. Previously it was converted to a 10-digit SIM. This shows that telecommunications businesses have not fully demonstrated their responsibilities for registering, managing, screening and providing services to subscriber SIMs in accordance with regulations.
