Son Heung-min was blackmailed

According to Yonhap News Agency and The Korea Times , a woman in her 20s and a man in his 40s are currently being investigated by Seoul police on charges of extortion.

Son accused the woman of lying about her pregnancy in order to blackmail him for several hundred million won. The 32-year-old's legal team said the woman began making demands last June, demanding money to keep quiet about the pregnancy.

Son is currently single and has no children. He previously said he did not want to have children until he retired to focus entirely on his football career.

Speaking to The Guardian in 2019, Son said: "My dad said this and I agree. When you get married, the number one priority is family, wife and children, then football. I want to make sure that when I'm still playing at the top level, football is the top priority. You don't know how long you can play at the top level. When you retire or when you're 33, 34, you have a long life with your family."

Son has previously been rumored to be dating K-pop stars such as Bang Min-ah and Yoo So-young.

Son and Tottenham are now determined to win their first title in 17 years. Spurs aim to secure a Champions League spot by defeating MU in the Europa League final on May 22.
