Son Heung-min was blackmailed.

Son Heung-min has filed a complaint with the South Korean police against a woman for blackmailing him with a fake pregnancy scheme.

According to Yonhap News Agency and The Korea Times , a woman in her 20s and a man in his 40s are currently under investigation by Seoul police on charges of extortion.

Son accused the woman of lying about her pregnancy in order to extort hundreds of millions of won from him. The 32-year-old player's legal team said the woman began making demands last June, asking for money to keep quiet about the pregnancy.

Son is currently unmarried and has no children. He previously shared that he did not want to have children until after he retired so that he could focus entirely on his football career.

Speaking to The Guardian in 2019, Son said: "My father said this and I agree. When you get married, the number one priority is family, wife and children, then football. I want to make sure that while I'm still playing at the highest level, football is the top priority. You don't know how long you can play at the highest level. When you retire or reach the age of 33 or 34, you still have a long life ahead of you with your family."

Son has previously been rumored to be dating K-pop stars such as Bang Min-ah and Yoo So-young.
