Driven by a desire to share with the people of Lao Cai severely affected by Typhoon Yagi, employees of Hoa Phat Group traveled hundreds of kilometers to deliver gifts directly to residents in three districts: Bat Xat, Bac Ha, and Bao Yen. Despite the difficult roads, landslides, and rough terrain, nothing could deter the philanthropic spirit of Hoa Phat's people, bringing love to the remote highlands.

“A Journey of Connecting Love” – Preparations for the charitable trip were meticulously and systematically carried out. The Group handled numerous tasks, from contacting local authorities to verify the list according to established criteria, researching the terrain, routes, and travel paths to ensure safety and convenience, to planning the gift distribution to minimize travel for the recipients, and arranging transportation and accommodation for the entire team. Everything proceeded smoothly, efficiently, and scientifically . Upon receiving the registration notification, employees from member companies enthusiastically responded, even assigning vehicles and drivers to assist with the organization. Nearly 40 employees, representing over 32,000 employees of the Group, participated in the gift distribution and support activities in the local area. Due to the vast area covered by the charitable activities, scattered across more than 20 communes and towns in the three aforementioned districts, and the difficult travel conditions, the Hoa Phat Group's charitable team was divided into five groups to visit and directly distribute aid to the people in these communes and districts. Departing at 3:00 AM on October 24th from the headquarters at 66 Nguyen Du, Hanoi, the journey to Ban Cai and Nam Luc communes in Bac Ha district involved many landslides, slippery roads, potholes, and ongoing construction work on damaged sections of the road. The vehicles shook and swayed, causing dizziness, but everyone on board encouraged each other and believed they would eventually reach their destination. The distance was no longer important in terms of kilometers, hours, minutes, or the individual's health; the goal was to ensure that the gifts contributed by the Group's employees were delivered to the right people, for the right purpose, and to the best of their ability.

Mr. Ta Tuan Quang, former Member of the Board of Directors of Hoa Phat Group and Director of Hoa Phat Refrigeration Company, delivered a speech in Bac Ha district.

At 8:30 AM, the first group arrived in Ban Cai commune, Bac Ha district, to distribute gifts to the local people. Speaking in Bac Ha district, Mr. Ta Tuan Quang, former Member of the Board of Directors of Hoa Phat Group and Director of Hoa Phat Refrigeration Company, shared: For the past 32 years, in addition to production and business activities, Hoa Phat has also actively participated in community activities. To help people overcome the consequences of Typhoon Yagi, Hoa Phat employees donated 2,000 gift packages to people in Lao Cai province, including 650 households in Bac Ha. In addition, the Group also participated in supporting the reconstruction of houses for some households in Nu village, Long Khanh commune (Bao Yen district), and A Lu commune (Bat Xat district). “We hope that the people will overcome the losses and quickly rebuild and restore their lives to normalcy. Furthermore, if the people wish to work for the Group's factories in Hung Yen and Hai Duong, Hoa Phat is ready to accept them, providing them with stable employment and income,” Mr. Ta Tuan Quang emphasized. In response to the heartfelt sentiments of the Group's employees, the local authorities and the people all highly appreciated Hoa Phat's efforts in organizing teams to travel to remote and isolated communes to provide direct support to the people.

Mr. Duong Quang Vinh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ban Cai Commune, Bac Ha District, expressed his gratitude for the kindness shown by the employees of Hoa Phat Group to the local people.

Mr. Duong Quang Vinh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ban Cai Commune, Bac Ha District, Lao Cai Province, shared: "Thank you to the employees of Hoa Phat Group for not hesitating to travel long distances to care for and support the people here. The valuable kindness of the Group's employees motivates the people in the flood-stricken areas of Lao Cai to unite in overcoming the aftermath of the storm, feel secure in their work and production, and restore socio-economic development." Representing the households in Vinh Yen Commune, Mr. Ma Van Quyen from Bao Yen District said that after the storm, his house and crops were severely damaged. "I would like to thank the Hoa Phat Group's employees for their kindness to me and other disadvantaged families in the locality," Mr. Quyen said. Most of the people are ethnic minorities, many of whom do not speak Vietnamese, but they greatly appreciate the kindness shown by the Group's employees and expressed that this gift will help alleviate some of the difficulties in their current lives.

Mr. Sung A Chao, from Phu Lao Chai village, A Mu Sung commune, Bat Xat district, expressed his gratitude to Hoa Phat Group for their support and sharing in the current difficult circumstances of his family and other people in the flood-affected areas of Lao Cai.

“Charity is a tireless, never-ending journey.” Despite being retired for a long time, Mr. Ta Tuan Quang (former Director of Hoa Phat Refrigeration Company) volunteered to represent the Group's leadership in a charitable mission. Few would have thought that at over 60 years old, this leader could be so energetic. He confided that charity is a good thing to do, so there's nothing to hesitate about; even walking and trekking through forests is fine. Reaching the people makes him feel healthier. Moreover, according to Mr. Quang, the organizers of the charity trip did a very thorough and systematic job. Everyone who participated in the trip was satisfied and thanked the Group for organizing such a meaningful and practical trip, bringing the "Journey of Connecting Love" to the remote villages.

On the sidelines of the program, the delegation also took the opportunity to visit and give gifts to three families whose houses were completely destroyed and to the teachers and students of the kindergarten in Thai Giang Pho commune, Bac Ha district. In Lung Phinh commune, Mr. Quang and his companions also visited and gave gifts to three families whose houses were completely destroyed, each receiving 1 million VND. One of the houses, which had been under construction for three years, was swept away by the flood and collapsed. Experiencing climbing a mountain slope to visit the teachers and students of a kindergarten in Thai Giang Pho commune for the first time, Mr. Hoang Ngoc Trung from Hoa Phat Urban Construction and Development Company expressed: "I was out of breath after climbing just a short distance, but the children and teachers have to climb up and down every day. Despite the difficult conditions, the teachers and students are quite optimistic, and the little ones are all innocent and cheerful. They were happy to see the delegation come and receive candy and snacks. It was truly moving to witness firsthand the lives of the people in this border region." I feel fortunate and proud to have participated in this meaningful trip and hope to have more opportunities to join future charitable activities organized by the Group.

Tra My, from Hoa Phat Household Appliances Company, recounted that during their journey to the highland villages, the delegation witnessed families in Ban Cai still having to makeshift shelters on the hillside because their houses had collapsed or been damaged by storms and floods. However, they were all determined to stay in their villages and rebuild their lives on their homeland. For Hoang Phan Giap, from Hoa Phat Hung Yen Animal Feed Company, this was his first time participating in the Group's charitable mission. Mr. Giap observed that the members, despite working for different member companies within the Group and meeting for the first time, were very sociable and united. Without being told, everyone spontaneously assigned tasks efficiently and quickly to ensure that the villagers didn't have to wait long. Most importantly, they ensured that all the money contributed by over 32,000 employees of the Group reached the households on the list accurately and completely. Upon completing his volunteer mission in Lao Cai , Mr. Nguyen Van Lam, an employee of Hoa Phat Hai Duong Steel Company, even "exported his work into poetry," summarizing the spirit of the Hoa Phat people on this trip:

"Place your faith in the little things,"

Volunteering is a tireless and continuous journey.
