Nguyen Tien Linh was born in Cam Hoang commune, Cam Giang district, Hai Duong province. When he was 2 years old, his mother went to work in Korea. Then Tien Linh and his father moved to Binh Duong to live and work. Currently, his family runs a football cafe in Thuan An city, Binh Duong province (now An Phu ward, Ho Chi Minh City).
His soccer talent was discovered by his physical education teacher. At the age of 13, he took the exam and was accepted into the training center of Becamex Binh Duong Club.
On April 10, 2016, Tien Linh debuted for the club in the match of round 5 of V.League 1. Since then, Tien Linh has strived and trained constantly to become more and more mature in both playing style and ethics on the field. In recent years, he has gradually reached maturity in his career and has become an excellent striker with impressive achievements, famous not only for Becamex Binh Duong but also for the Vietnam national team.

The player works hard for charity
Besides all the glory and achievements, Tien Linh is also known as one of the most diligent players in charity work. He has contributed a lot of money and effort to meaningful and humane community activities not only in Binh Duong where his family lives, but also in many other localities in the country.
There are activities that have been reported by the press and known to the community such as football matches to raise funds, supporting tons of rice for charity kitchens after winning medals with the Vietnamese team. But there are also contributions and sharing with the community that he has quietly done for many years, meaningful activities that few people know about and are not widely reported on the news. One of them is the wholehearted support in both spirit and material over the past few years for the Bach Mai Free Canteen (near Bach Mai Hospital, Hanoi ). This is a clear demonstration of Tien Linh's compassion as well as his sincere desire to help the unfortunate.
According to Ms. Pham Thi Thuy, the founder and operator of Bach Mai 0 Dong Canteen, Tien Linh first learned about the 0 Dong Canteen in 2023. While taking his grandparents from Hai Duong to Hanoi for a medical examination at Bach Mai Hospital, Tien Linh happened to see the rice distribution activity and the sign "0 Dong Canteen", so he proactively contacted and asked. Knowing that the canteen would cook 500 meals a day and distribute them for free to people in difficult circumstances from Monday to Friday every week, the male player proactively offered to support.
Since then, every month he regularly sends Ms. Thuy and her friends 1 ton of rice to help cook rice with everyone. Not only that, when he is rewarded for his good performance with the national team, Tien Linh also gives more money to Bach Mai 0 Dong Canteen to buy various foods to maintain cooking and distributing rice. Especially, when he has the opportunity to go to Hanoi to gather with the team or to compete with Becamex Binh Duong Club, he always tries to arrange to visit Ms. Thuy and everyone as well as directly send rice to the needy people.
According to Ms. Thuy, although Tien Linh is not the only famous person supporting the canteen, what is precious and admirable about him is his simplicity, sincerity and kindness from material support to his emotional lifestyle through his gentle and polite bow when delivering food to the people who come to receive it.

Simple, sincere and kind
Whenever he can visit the canteen, Tien Linh will do anything to help people, from scooping rice, delivering rice, or welcoming people to receive charity rice. Many actions, even though they are small, are enough for everyone to understand that everything he does comes from the heart, not for show or show off. Tien Linh does everything because he truly wants to do it, supporting the canteen within his ability, simply because he wants to share with the unfortunate lives around him...
Ms. Thuy added that Tien Linh never went to the cafeteria by car. Linh only took Grab to the alley entrance and then walked to the cafeteria. Once, he was injured and limped, but he still visited the cafeteria because he hadn't had a chance to visit for a long time. And when he saw the happy smiles of the people when receiving hot meals, Linh smiled brightly and told Ms. Thuy that he was very happy, even though he was injured, he wasn't in much pain anymore. How precious is the heart and sincere feelings of the soccer player Tien Linh.

The valuable thing is that although he has been accompanying Bach Mai Free Meal for quite a long time, he has not widely announced his volunteer activities. The male player just quietly acts and feels the joy of being able to help patients and their relatives with delicious, warm free meals.
With his contributions and heart for volunteer activities for the community, in 2024, Tien Linh was not only chosen by Binh Duong as a volunteer ambassador but also honored by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union with the "Beautiful Youth" award.
Coming from hardship, Tien Linh understands the meaning of "living is giving, not just receiving" (To Huu). He is truly a golden heart in the football community, a beautiful example to spread the spirit of sharing and loving the community in life. I believe that in the future, Tien Linh will continue his meaningful activities to not only help more lives but also contribute to spreading a beautiful lifestyle with a compassionate and sincere heart to young people in today's busy life.
