Many impressive changes
This is one of the landmarks that demonstrates the efforts of the officials and people of Lien Chieu district throughout the years; it represents overcoming difficulties and striving to constantly assert itself throughout the journey of construction and development, including the important political task of building infrastructure and urban development.
Many major, key projects of the city have been and are being implemented in the district, such as: Nguyen Tat Thanh road, Hue Junction, Northwest new urban areas, Golden Hill, Ecocham, Mikazuki Spa & Hotel Resort; Lien Chieu port, Nam O ecological tourist area, Mega Market shopping center, Lien Chieu port connecting road, Western Ring Road 2, Northwest Axis 1 road...
According to the Lien Chieu District People's Committee, the implementation of projects with a sound strategic vision has truly transformed Lien Chieu. The urban landscape is becoming increasingly modern, and major arterial roads have been expanded. Urban infrastructure has developed remarkably, from the initial 5 roads at the district's establishment to over 500 roads today.
Projects that have upgraded transportation infrastructure, built new urban areas, and invested in industrial zones and high-tech parks have created a new dynamism, attracting investment and providing more stable jobs for the people. The material and spiritual lives of the people of Lien Chieu are increasingly improving, schools are more modern, people have access to higher-quality medical services, and the living environment is becoming greener, cleaner, and more beautiful. Joy and excitement are clearly visible on the faces of each resident, which is a great driving force on the path of local development.
In addition, the district is developing pilot projects to promote the development of forest-garden-based economy combined with ecotourism and environmentally friendly practices in the Hai Van forest; exploiting tourism services in coastal areas and marine sports and recreation tourism; developing Hoa Khanh market into a tourist service point combined with a traditional market; developing community tourism in Nam O; developing inland waterway tourism on the Cu De River; and exploiting ecotourism services on forest and agricultural land in the district. After implementation, these projects will contribute to the formation of high-end tourism and urban service infrastructure, support the promotion of the regional economy, create more high-class tourism service products, and contribute to job creation for local people.
Ms. Ho Thi Kim Hoa (Hoa Khanh Bac ward) said that for the project connecting Lien Chieu port and Lien Chieu port, the people have received very satisfactory compensation and relocation, and have seen practical benefits from the project. She hopes the project will soon be operational, contributing to the development of Lien Chieu district in particular and the city in general.
Mr. Nguyen Van Xung, a resident of the former Van Village who was relocated to Hoa Hiep Nam ward, shared: "Since moving here, the lives of the people of Van Village have changed a lot. From healthcare, education, culture, and social life, to the education of our children, who previously didn't receive a proper education, now they can go to school and gain knowledge..."
He himself is content with his new life and happy to see the city developing more and more, with a series of large projects being implemented such as Lien Chieu port, the road connecting to the port, the free trade zone... "We left Lang Van village to live here, and now that we hear Lang Van will be developing a tourist area, we are very happy. We hope the project will be completed soon so that we can have the opportunity to return to Lang Van village and see firsthand the changes in the land where we once lived," Mr. Xung shared.
Boost investment in key and strategic projects.
According to Huynh Anh Vu, Vice Chairman of the Lien Chieu District People's Committee, the district is striving to accelerate the land clearance process and complete the land clearance for 17 unfinished projects in the area, such as: the Lang Van tourism and resort urban complex; the Hoa Khanh Nam industrial cluster; the Le Trong Tan road; the Trung Nghia area primary school, etc.
Simultaneously, focus is being placed on completing legal documents and preparing for the implementation of new projects in the district: projects within the free trade zone – phased according to each sub-zone, the extended Nguyen Sinh Sac road, the Western Ring Road 2… Once implemented, these projects promise to upgrade the infrastructure for tourism and high-end urban services, support the regional economy, create more high-class tourism products and services, contribute to job creation, and improve the quality of life for local residents. Achieving these results requires many factors, among which land clearance and compensation play a crucial role. This is a complex task requiring perseverance, transparency, and understanding, sharing, and consensus from both the government and the people.
“In the coming period, to continue successfully implementing major projects and creating momentum for sustainable development, Lien Chieu district will focus on resolving difficulties and obstacles, accelerating the progress of land clearance for projects in the area, based on the principle of: putting the legitimate interests of the people first, strengthening dialogue and listening to the opinions of the people; focusing on resettlement work; focusing on policies to support people in the process of transitioning, stabilizing their lives and finding new jobs… At the same time, we will also resolutely handle cases of deliberately causing difficulties and obstructing land clearance and compensation work in accordance with the law, ensuring strictness and fairness; contributing to the overall development of the locality, bringing a prosperous, happy and sustainable life to the people,” Mr. Vu said.
