From fortunate circumstances
Each female entrepreneur enters the tourism industry with a different mindset, but their greatest commonality is their shared admiration for the beauty of the people and the land of their homeland.
For Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan (born in 1988), her love of travel blossomed from childhood memories of watching tour guides explain the history of the Imperial Citadel in Hue . This fascination led her to study Tourism Geography at Phu Xuan University (Hue).
After years of working as a tour guide in Ho Chi Minh City and then operating tours in Da Nang, in 2017, she decided to establish Truong Sa Trading and Tourism Company Limited. In addition to organizing tours, she also established a transportation company to fulfill her passion and improve the quality of transportation services.

Meanwhile, Tran Thi Ngoc Tu (born in 1981) entered the tourism industry as a turning point after graduating with a degree in French Language. Initially intending to pursue a career in translation, a tour guide training course opened new doors for her, helping her realize that tourism is a journey of connecting emotions and fostering understanding.
After more than 20 years of hard work, Ms. Tú is now the Director of Vietravel Tourism Joint Stock Company - Da Nang branch. For her, each trip is a story, each customer is a friend, and it is the joy of bringing beautiful experiences to others that has kept her in this profession for so many years.
In contrast to her romantic image, Ms. Vo Thi Thanh Thuy (born in 1984) approaches tourism with the shrewdness of a financial professional. She sees tourism as an economic sector that combines emotion with well-structured operational strategies.
Driven by her love for her hometown of Ly Son Island, she overcame difficulties to bring the island's cultural and historical beauty to tourists, subsequently expanding to neighboring provinces and nationwide with Hoa Ti Gon Tourism Company Limited.
Ms. Lan recalls the early years of her business, when the internet hadn't yet boomed and business was still based on traditional relationships, resulting in limited customer information and slow payment methods that significantly impacted operating capital. However, her perseverance helped her build a reputable Truong Sa Tourist after nearly 10 years.

For Thuy, the biggest challenge was the lack of market trust due to the absence of a brand. She had to learn how to handle even the smallest situations. For her, the philosophy is that in this profession, one must be calm enough to solve problems and persistent enough to go the distance.
Building sustainable tourism
In a tourism market with so many options, female entrepreneurs are skillfully creating unique value for their businesses.
Lan's Trường Sa Tourist says no to "zero-cost tours" or cheap tours. She positions her brand by offering in-depth tours exploring Vietnamese culture, cuisine, and customs at affordable prices.
At Vietravel Da Nang, Ms. Tu places customers at the center; her unique approach lies not in the number of destinations but in her ability to connect with their emotions. She constantly reminds her team that a successful trip isn't measured by the number of beautiful photos, but by the peace of mind, the joy of reunion, and the feeling of being understood that customers experience.
As for Hoa Ti Gon, Thuy doesn't choose to compete on price or hype; instead, she designs trips with a "clear structure," transparent costs, and value for money. She wants customers to remember her company for its reliability and integrity, rather than mass-produced tours.
Looking to the future, Ms. Lan believes that, with the title of "World's Leading Heritage Destination" that Vietnam has been honored with for many consecutive years, tourism will shift entirely towards the high-quality, long-stay segment and minimize short-term exploitation.
She hopes Da Nang will become a leading destination for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism, international events, and high-end resort tourism. She is also nurturing new plans by incorporating the finest culinary traditions into new tour packages, ensuring each journey is a joyful experience.
According to Ms. Tú, Vietravel's development orientation is based on three pillars: "green - digital - deep connectivity." She expects Vietnamese tourism to focus more on applying technology and green transformation, becoming a bridge between cultures and a source of national pride.
Her vision for 2025-2035 is to build a tourism workforce that is both professional and passionate, capable of competing on the regional map.
Similarly, Ms. Thuy believes that future competition will lie in operational quality and in-depth experiences. She hopes that Da Nang's tourism industry will shift from attracting a large number of tourists to attracting high-quality tourists, with businesses contributing by practicing their profession responsibly, transparently, and prioritizing long-term benefits over short-term gains.
