Visiting Uncle Ho's hometown in May.

During the historic month of May, people from all over the country flock to Lang Sen (Kim Lien commune, Nghe An province). Visiting President Ho Chi Minh's birthplace during this time, everyone wishes to offer him a bouquet of fresh flowers and light incense to express their reverence for the revered leader of the nation.

At the Kim Lien historical site - a special national historical site with the village of Chua, the mother's hometown, the village of Sen, the father's hometown, with Chung Son mountain and Tranh cave on the Dai Hue mountain range... the crowds stretched on endlessly.

Standing before the five-room thatched house, many visitors are deeply moved. Ms. Nguyen Thu Ha, a tourist from Hanoi , shared: "Every time I come to Lang Sen, I feel as if my soul is cleansed. The utmost simplicity of the place where Uncle Ho was born is the greatest lesson about humility and great patriotism."

In May, in Uncle Ho's homeland, the sun is still golden and the lotus flowers are still fragrant. Each return is a time when we are strengthened by the simplicity, humility, and iron will of the President. Here, we not only relive the golden pages of our nation's history but also receive a powerful source of energy to continue contributing to building a country that is "more decent and more beautiful," as he wished during his lifetime. Amidst the fragrant lotus blossoms, we suddenly feel our hearts become purer, and we promise ourselves to live more kindly, honestly, compassionately, and responsibly – to ourselves, to others, and to the community.

For the people of Kim Lien commune, aware of their responsibility and affection for President Ho Chi Minh's immense contributions, every household and every individual here always strives to compete in labor and production, doing many good deeds.

Over the past period, the Women's Union of Kim Lien commune has concretized the learning and following of President Ho Chi Minh's example through many practical and specific activities, attracting the participation of a large number of members and women. Ms. Nguyen Thi Tam, President of the Women's Union of Kim Lien commune, said that in recent years, the Women's Union of the commune has organized and guided the branches to effectively implement campaigns and emulation movements associated with the implementation of Directive 05 of the Politburo on promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality, and style. This has contributed to creating a strong transformation in the awareness, actions, and self-consciousness of members and women in promoting the learning and following of President Ho Chi Minh's example, making it a regular practice. Some practical activities of the Union include: 43/43 rural branches implementing the "Turning scrap into money" model, raising funds to support orphans and disadvantaged members and women. The Women's Association of the Public Security Force, through fundraising, has sponsored two orphaned children and donated eight gift packages to members suffering from serious illnesses.

On the occasion of the 136th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth and the 2026 Lotus Village Festival, the Women's Union of Kim Lien commune also has many outstanding activities, including a parade and mass performance of the Lotus Ao Dai (traditional Vietnamese dress) with the theme "Proud of the Vietnamese Ao Dai, radiant in the Lotus homeland" (scheduled to take place on May 24, 2026). According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Tam, the Lotus Ao Dai mass performance will involve more than 200 female members of the commune. These days, the members are practicing to ensure the festival's activities are a great success.
