Over 87 delegates attended the conference to spread the message of gender equality and safety for women and children in the digital age, with the participation of Ms. To Thi My Thuan, Vice President of the Ca Mau Provincial Women's Union.
This year, the Action Month is implemented with the theme: "Gender Equality and Safety for Women and Girls in the Digital Age," aiming to raise social awareness about gender equality, reduce violence, eliminate gender discrimination , and promote digital skills and ensure the safety of women and girls.
Ms. To Thi My Thuan, Vice President of the Ca Mau Provincial Women's Union, delivered the opening remarks at the conference.
Speaking at the conference, Ms. To Thi My Thuan, Vice President of the Ca Mau Provincial Women's Union, emphasized the necessity of equipping women with digital skills and expressed her hope that each woman would continue to be proactive, ready to take on leadership and management positions, and adapt well to modern technological trends to contribute to the rapid and sustainable development of the province.
Ms. To Thi My Thuan, Vice President of the Ca Mau Provincial Women's Union, and Mr. Tran Viet Luan, Vice Chairman of the Dat Moi Commune People's Committee, affixed heart-shaped stickers containing a message of commitment and partnership.
Mr. Tran Viet Luan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dat Moi Commune, said that in the past period, the People's Committee of the commune has organized 6 communication sessions with more than 300 participants, disseminated information on the commune's website and social media, and established a Community Communication Team under Project 8 with 112 members. These activities have raised community awareness and promoted the prevention of gender-based violence and the protection of women and children.
Delegates raised orange hearts, the symbol of the global campaign to end gender-based violence.
After watching the video clip "Gender Equality and Safety for Women and Children in the Digital Age," delegates discussed, shared experiences, and proposed solutions to strengthen communication, protect the rights of women and children, and ensure safety in the online environment. Delegates unanimously committed to continuing to work together to promote gender equality, aiming for a just society free from gender-based violence.
At the conclusion of the conference, the Provincial Women's Union and the People's Committee of Dat Moi commune called on the entire political system and the community to join hands in building Dat Moi commune into a leading locality in gender equality and creating a safe environment for women and children in the digital age.
