Duong Quoc Hung releases two products simultaneously: an album and an EP.

On the evening of April 14th, singer-songwriter Duong Quoc Hung officially released two musical products: the album "Sounds of the Homeland" and the EP "The City Rises with the Nation" (extended play). These two products are part of the "Love Songs for Building the Homeland" project, which the artist has been working on for many years.

The album "Sounds of the Homeland" consists of 9 songs, all epic anthems praising the heroic struggles and sacrifices of countless generations who fought for the freedom and independence of their homeland.

The album is like a film made of music. The emotions are both familiar and new, with the dominant Epic genre (music that expresses powerful, heroic, and tragic emotions) recreating a time of bombs, bloodshed, suffering, but also pride, aspiration, optimism, and the belief in victory.

According to Duong Quoc Hung, nowadays, too many modern world music genres are flooding the youth market. Vietnamese folk music and patriotic songs receive less attention and development among younger generations. He wants to be someone who keeps the flame alive and passes on the flame of traditional Vietnamese music, spreading love, gratitude, encouraging hard work and construction, and promoting responsible living for the homeland to a wider audience, especially the younger generation.

He is undertaking a project to donate to Ho Chi Minh City in anticipation of an upcoming special event.

"The combination of the sounds of the Epic era with traditional instruments such as the bầu lute, bamboo flute, tranh zither... sometimes gentle and full of energy, sometimes powerful and majestic, blending familiar melodies to bring a new breath of life and a fresh look to timeless songs of the homeland."

Through this, we further spread the spirit of building, love, and national pride. Music makes us courageous; let's listen and feel the slow, gentle melodies blending into each epic note. Sometimes powerful, sometimes profound, full of emotion and energy, it feels like a wave crashing into our souls, so that optimism, pride, positivity, and faith will last forever," - Duong Quoc Hung shared.

The EP "The City Rises with the Nation" features new compositions about Ho Chi Minh City with a vibrant and majestic rhythm, as a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country. Duong Quoc Hung expressed that creating this EP was a way to remind today's generation of their gratitude, the dedication and sacrifice, and the glorious victories of their ancestors in the resistance war for national independence and liberation.

Duong Quoc Hung was known as a pop singer, but now he has changed direction.

"Previously, I was known in venues for professional young singers, but later audiences saw and heard me sing in many mainstream music programs with songs about my homeland. It was this genre of patriotic music that helped me see my own musical path clearly, giving me more strength, confidence in my voice, and in my decisions."

The idea for the "Love Songs for Building the Nation" project was born from a desire to contribute and to be the next generation to preserve and develop the genre of patriotic music. After releasing two albums and a new EP today, I will continue to pursue my unfinished light music projects and simultaneously work on songs and projects related to traditional music. The "Love Songs for Building the Nation" project will definitely accompany Hung throughout his musical career," - Duong Quoc Hung shared.
