Coastal economic bright spots

Mr. Le Van Tien, Secretary of the Party Committee of Thanh Hai commune, said: With its location bordering the East Sea, the marine economy has become a pillar of development; in particular, the field of aquaculture in the area.

High-tech shrimp farming models, shrimp-rice rotation, and all-male giant freshwater prawn farming in rice paddies are being widely implemented, gradually improving productivity, product quality, and reducing disease risks. By 2025, the average per capita income of the commune is expected to exceed 75 million VND/year.

The biggest breakthrough for Thanh Hai in the recent period has been the formation of a large-scale coastal wind energy complex. The Tan Hoan Cau Ben Tre Joint Stock Company's Wind Power Plant No. 5 has entered its first phase of operation, with a capacity of 30MW and a total investment of over 4,900 billion VND, paving the way for subsequent phases.

Within the commune, there are many wind power projects such as Thanh Phong, Nexif Energy Ben Tre, Thien Phu 1, 2, Hai Phong… which are being actively implemented, creating a cluster of clean energy. To ensure the evacuation of power, Thanh Hai commune has coordinated with investors to construct the 220kV Thanh Hai-Mo Cay transmission line, connecting all wind power generation to the national grid.

In addition to developing the energy industry, Thanh Hai also leverages its coastal landscape to promote ecotourism .

Con Bung Tourist Area has been recognized as a provincial-level tourist area, becoming an attractive destination for tourists from both within and outside the province. The infrastructure has been upgraded comprehensively, from roads, bridges, and parking lots to the restoration of the Ho Chi Minh Trail on the Sea and the Nam Hai Mausoleum, creating additional unique cultural and historical products.

Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Tram, owner of Gio Duoc tourist facility, shared: “With favorable conditions regarding land location, new space, and new landscape, we decided to develop an ecotourism model to serve food and allow tourists to experience traditional livelihood activities under the forest canopy…”

Prospects for the 2,000-hectare land reclamation project.

Mr. Le Van Tien, Secretary of the Party Committee of Thanh Hai commune, said: "For the 2025-2030 term, Thanh Hai aims to build an advanced new rural commune by 2030, bringing the average per capita income to 135 million VND/year, reducing the poverty rate to below 5%, maintaining a forest cover rate of over 10%, and becoming one of the leading clean energy centers in the province..."

To realize these goals, Thanh Hai commune focuses on improving socio-economic infrastructure, accelerating the land clearance process for projects, and mobilizing diverse resources to invest in infrastructure serving high-tech shrimp farming, wind power, and tourism.

According to Le Van Tien, Secretary of the Party Committee of Thanh Hai commune, "Currently, the commune is coordinating with the investor and proposing to the province to implement a land reclamation project of approximately 2,000 hectares in the coastal area of ​​Thanh Hai commune."

This large-scale project will create land for investment in many socio-economic development sectors such as industrial zones, commercial and service areas, seaports, aquaculture, and integrated tourism…”.

With wind power projects simultaneously connected to the grid, high-tech aquaculture models spreading, and land reclamation projects being implemented… Thanh Hai will soon transform itself into a dynamic locality oriented towards developing the marine economy and green energy, contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term.
