Contactless chip cards, also known as contactless cards, are a type of smart card where the card body contains a chip and a hidden antenna. Vietcombank offers free conversion to contactless chip technology cards.

Vietcombank is currently offering free conversion from magnetic stripe cards to chip cards. To avoid incurring magnetic stripe card maintenance fees, customers should convert to chip cards, and VCB will refund the fee if the customer converts and/or blocks the magnetic stripe card within 3 months from the date the fee is collected (this applies to both customers converting at the counter and through the Digibank digital banking service – applicable to the first conversion).

Conversion methods:

1. Conversion via VCB Digibank: Applicable to debit cards with the following steps: - Step 1: Log in to VCB Digibank - Step 2: Select Card Service Management - Step 3: Select Debit Card Issuance/Conversion - Step 4: Register for debit card technology conversion - Step 5: Fill in card information and select Transaction Point, Card Collection Point and press continue to complete. Note: Once the registration procedure is successfully completed, customers will not be able to cancel the card technology conversion request. 2. At Vietcombank Branches/Transaction Offices: conversion applies to all card types.
