Another US citizen kidnapped in Mexico

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced that a US citizen has just been kidnapped in a central Mexican state. There is still no information about the victim's whereabouts or the motive for the kidnapping.

According to the FBI, 64-year-old María del Carmen Lopez, an American citizen, was kidnapped from her home in the town of Peblo Nuevo in the state of Colima. US authorities are offering a $20,000 reward for information about the victim. Previously, on March 3, four US citizens were kidnapped in the city of Matamoros, Mexico, near the US border. When authorities found the four victims on March 7, two were dead. The Gulf Cartel drug gang operating in northeastern Mexico has claimed responsibility for the kidnapping and handed over five of its members.
