The people of Sì Lở Lầu commune are united, hardworking, and striving to build a prosperous life.

According to Comrade Tran Bao Trung, Secretary of the Party Committee of Si Lo Lau commune, in learning from and following President Ho Chi Minh's example, cadres and Party members always set a good example, actively fulfilling their assigned tasks, promoting digital transformation, reforming administrative procedures, and serving the people. At the same time, they regularly go to the grassroots, listen to the thoughts and aspirations of the people to promptly advise on resolving difficulties in production and life. The commune has oriented and proposed many solutions for economic development suitable to the actual conditions, such as: supporting people with seedlings and livestock, guiding cultivation and animal husbandry techniques, and changing the crop structure.

From lowland to highland villages, households diligently work in production, developing their family economies; practicing thrift; eliminating outdated customs; and building a new cultural life. Agricultural production in the commune is gradually developing steadily. In 2025, the total food production is expected to reach 7,309 tons. Many economically valuable crops continue to expand in area, including ginger (160.3 hectares) and taro (35.22 hectares). Since the beginning of the year, the people have focused on livestock farming, with a total livestock population of over 12,400 animals and poultry over 35,000 birds. Currently, households are preparing land to plant 40-50 hectares of sugarcane in the villages of Hoang Then, Sin Chai, Ban Moi, etc.

Ms. Phu Dieu May from Hoang Then village shared: "Thanks to the guidance of the commune officials in changing the crop structure, the border guards' support in providing a breeding buffalo, and learning and following Uncle Ho's teachings on diligence and hard work, my family has achieved economic stability. Currently, my family is raising 3 buffaloes; we even have surplus rice to sell."

With 8,381.84 hectares of forest, the forest cover rate reaches 56.71%, helping to protect the ecological environment and create sustainable livelihoods for the people through payments for forest environmental services, planting and harvesting medicinal plants. Meanwhile, the commune's industrial and handicraft sectors are also gradually developing, contributing to job creation for rural workers.

With economic development, the people have joined forces to build new rural areas by donating land and contributing labor to road construction. 100% of villages and hamlets have roads accessible by motorbikes or cars, and the rate of paved roads has reached 95.62%. These roads not only shorten distances between villages but also open up many opportunities for economic development for people in border areas.

The education sector receives significant attention from the commune, with active participation from parents in ensuring high attendance rates. Currently, the commune has 10 schools with 143 classes and 4,175 students, of which 2 schools meet national standards. The management staff and teachers are actively promoting digital transformation and implementing the fundamental and comprehensive reform of education and training. Many students have won high awards in various levels of student excellence competitions. Healthcare for the people is also prioritized. On average, nearly 300 rural workers find employment each year.

Given the unique characteristics of a border commune, the learning and emulation of President Ho Chi Minh's teachings are also linked by the people to the task of maintaining security and order and protecting territorial sovereignty. The people demonstrate a high sense of responsibility, actively cooperating with border guards in managing and protecting the border and boundary markers; promptly detecting and reporting any incidents occurring in the border area.

Mr. Phan Lao Ta from To Y Phin village shared: “My family and I always strictly abide by the regulations in the border area, maintaining security and order in the locality. When we detect any incidents or unusual signs, I immediately report them to the village head, the police, and the border guards. The security and order situation in the village and commune is stable.”

Through concrete and practical actions, learning from and following Uncle Ho's teachings has become an important driving force, helping cadres, Party members, and the people of Si Lo Lau commune to become more united and confident in building a more developed homeland and maintaining national border sovereignty.
