Israel and Hamas have agreed to extend the ceasefire for at least one more day to release more hostages, Al Jazeera reported. The deal was reached just minutes before the six-day ceasefire was set to expire.
In an official statement, the Israeli army said the ceasefire will continue, as the parties seek to free more hostages taken in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the conflict.

"In light of the mediators' efforts to continue the process of releasing hostages and complying with the terms of the framework, the suspension of operations will continue," according to a statement from Israel.
Hamas also confirmed the information. On November 29, the group announced that it had released 16 hostages in exchange for 30 Palestinian prisoners.

Initially, the agreement was to last only four days, starting on October 24. However, both sides tried to extend it by two more days. According to the plan, the ceasefire would end at the end of November 29.
According to Reuters, an hour before Hamas and Israel reached an agreement to continue the truce, this possibility was still questioned. The reason is that the two sides could not agree on the list of the next Israelis to be released from Gaza.
Hamas also said earlier that Israel had refused to take back seven women and children and the bodies of three other hostages in exchange for extending the ceasefire.
Despite the ceasefire agreement, both sides said they were ready to continue fighting after it expired and was not renewed.
