The organizers of the competition stated that this is a necessary activity for the locality after the administrative boundary consolidation; to have an official emblem that is symbolic and characteristic of the history, geography, economy , culture, society, and people of Dak Lak in the process of development.
This emblem will be officially used in information and propaganda activities, serving the political , economic, cultural, social development, and foreign affairs work of the province.
Ms. Nguyen Thuy Phuong Hieu, Deputy Director of the Dak Lak Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, shared that the change of the local logo after the merger has been discussed by the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee in the past, and the cultural sector has been discussing and implementing it since August 2025 with the participation and advice of relevant departments and agencies.
The requirement was that the new provincial logo must reflect the distinctive historical, cultural, economic, social characteristics and development potential of the locality after the merger; it must be both comprehensive and representative of the history, geography, culture, economy, society and people, while also being easily recognizable and easy to represent.
Entries are encouraged to inherit the logo designs of the former Dak Lak province and the former Phu Yen province, aiming for a harmonious blend of culture, tradition, and modernity; a highly generalized design that reflects artistic and aesthetic qualities and unique creativity; simplicity in imagery, composition, lines, and colors; ease of production using common, safe, and environmentally friendly materials; ease of printing, enlarging, reducing, embossing, and processing on various materials; and convenience for promotion and long-term use.
"Although the competition information has only recently been officially announced to the media, the organizational details have been released over the past period, so we hope that participating authors and groups of authors have proactively grasped them. Currently, a number of entries have already been submitted to the Organizing Committee," Ms. Phuong Hieu noted.
Accordingly, the regulations stipulate that the Dak Lak province logo design contest will be launched nationwide, and all Vietnamese citizens, regardless of age, including Vietnamese people living abroad, are eligible to participate, either individually or in groups.
Each author or group of authors may submit a maximum of 5 works; they must clearly and concisely explain their creative ideas and ensure compliance with copyright and intellectual property regulations.
The Dak Lak provincial government also announced the prizes for the competition, including one first prize worth 150 million VND and five consolation prizes worth 10 million VND each, for the selected entries.
The deadline for submitting entries is January 30, 2026 (based on the postmark). The local judging panel will select the best entries from February 1 to February 10, 2026; then, public opinion will be gathered until February 28, 2026, and the awards will be announced in March 2026.
