Regarding the search for the missing MH370 aircraft, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim recently emphasized that the public deserves answers about what happened to MH370.

Prime Minister Ibrahim said that Transport Minister Anthony Loke informed the cabinet on December 20th about resuming the search for MH370 and the costs involved if it is found.

"If you ask whether I'm impressed or convinced by the recent MH370 search, it's unclear. But we owe it to the people. At the very least, we've convinced them that they are ready for the plane to be found," Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim was quoted as saying by the Malay Mail.

The Malaysian leader added that if Ocean Infinity finds MH370, Malaysia will pay the costs. "If they find it, we will pay. If they don't find it, we won't pay. That's our position," he said.

Earlier, on December 20, Malaysian Transport Minister Anthony Loke announced that Malaysia had agreed to continue searching for the wreckage of Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, more than 10 years after the plane mysteriously disappeared.

"It is our responsibility, our duty, and our commitment to the families of those on board the aircraft," Secretary Anthony Loke said at a press conference. "We hope the search will be successful, that the wreckage will be found and bring comfort to the families of the victims."

Malaysian Transport Minister Anthony Loke announced that the Malaysian Cabinet has agreed to continue the search for the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370. The search is being conducted by Ocean Infinity.

The Malaysian Ministry of Transport is discussing the final terms of the MH370 search with Ocean Infinity. Negotiations to resume the search for MH370 are expected to be completed by early 2025.

Mr. Loke also stated that the new search is being conducted on a "no find, no charge" basis.

According to Bloomberg, Minister Loke said the search would be conducted in a new area estimated to be 15,000 square kilometers in the southern Indian Ocean. The MH370 search contract with Ocean Infinity will last 18 months, and the Malaysian Justice Department is reviewing the search agreement with Ocean Infinity.

"The fee is $70 million if the plane is found," Loke said at a press conference on December 20. Ocean Infinity searched for MH370 in the Indian Ocean from 2017 to the end of 2018.

In March of this year, a company based in Texas, USA, announced it had found new scientific evidence regarding the final location of MH370.

In early November, in a separate statement sent to GB News, Ocean Infinity said that the company had strengthened its understanding "of the location of MH370".

Oliver Plunkett, CEO of Ocean Infinity, told People's Channel: "Since we left the southern Indian Ocean in 2018, our unwavering commitment to finding the missing aircraft and bringing answers to those involved has remained strong. In recent years, we have focused on enhancing our ocean search capabilities through advanced technology and robotics, allowing us to conduct some of the most complex and demanding underwater searches."

"In addition to our ongoing efforts, we have submitted a proposal to the Malaysian government and are actively discussing the possibility of resuming the search. By working with numerous experts, some outside of Ocean Infinity, and conducting continuous analysis, we have strengthened our understanding of the location of MH370," he emphasized.

"We are optimistic that with this new focus, with increased resources and active engagement with the Malaysian authorities, a successful outcome is within reach. We look forward to resuming the search and continuing our efforts to find answers," the Ocean Infinity leader emphasized.

The search for the missing MH370 aircraft has lasted over 10 years.

Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 disappeared in March 2014 while en route from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Beijing, China. The missing plane was carrying 239 passengers and crew. Over the years, search efforts for MH370 have been unsuccessful.

Malaysia, Australia, and China launched an underwater search for MH370 in a 120,000 square kilometer area of the southern Indian Ocean, based on data automatically transmitted between the Inmarsat satellite and the aircraft.

The search for MH370, which cost approximately 200 million Australian dollars, was canceled after two years, in January 2017, without finding any trace of the missing aircraft.

In 2018, Malaysia accepted a search proposal, also on a "no find, no charge" basis, from the American exploration company Ocean Infinity. Ocean Infinity's MH370 search lasted three months, covering an area of 112,000 square kilometers north of the initial search location. This search also yielded no results and ended in May 2018.

More than 30 pieces of debris believed to be from MH370 have been collected along the coast of Africa and on islands in the Indian Ocean, but only three pieces of aircraft wing have been confirmed as belonging to MH370. Most of the MH370 debris has been used for analysis to narrow down the crash site.

In their 495-page report on the disappearance of MH370, published in July 2018, investigators did not draw any conclusions about what happened to the Malaysia Airlines plane, emphasizing that conclusions depended on finding aircraft debris.

The inability to determine the crash site of MH370 has given rise to many conspiracy theories. In recent years, some aviation experts have suggested that the most plausible explanation is that the plane was deliberately steered off course by an experienced pilot. However, investigators say there is nothing suspicious about the background, finances, training, and mental health of both the MH370 captain and co-pilot.
