Coach Nguyen Anh Duc has the service of goalkeeper Nguyen Van Cong from Quang Nam Club. Van Cong will compete with number 1 goalkeeper Nguyen Minh Toan for the starting position at Becamex TP.HCM Club.
The contract duration and value were not announced by both sides. Coach Anh Duc can be satisfied when Van Cong can be completely a plan B after saying goodbye to 2 young goalkeepers.
Van Cong was born in 1992 and grew up from the training center of Hanoi Club. He played professionally for the capital team for 6 years before being transferred to Quang Nam Club from the end of 2023.
Goalkeeper Van Cong was selected for the Vietnam U23 team under coach Toshiya Miura from 2014 - 2015.
At the club level, Van Cong has achieved enough when he played for Hanoi FC. In the Tam Ky home team's shirt, the 33-year-old goalkeeper has a lot of experience but also often makes silly mistakes.
Ahead of the 2025-2026 season, in the context of the team being at risk of ceasing operations due to lack of funds, Nguyen Van Cong was given the opportunity to leave and was "picked up" by Becamex TP.HCM.
Previously, the team said goodbye to two goalkeepers, Vu Tuyen Quang and Phan Minh Thanh. Tuyen Quang joined the Hanoi Police Club, while Minh Thanh just said goodbye and has not yet found a new team.
