(Baohatinh.vn) - Large areas of pomelo orchards in Kim Hoa commune are being harvested to supply the Tet market. This year, orchard owners in Ha Tinh, the pomelo capital, are reaping huge profits with both a bountiful harvest and good prices.

At this time, many pomelo orchards in Kim Hoa are speeding up harvesting to supply the market for Tet (Lunar New Year). Currently, the price of pomelo ranges from 35,000 to 50,000 VND/kg. The family of Mr. Nguyen The Duc (Kim Loc village) currently has 2 hectares of mandarin orange trees. Mr. Duc said: "My family carefully cultivates mandarin oranges using organic methods, ensuring safety and quality. Thanks to favorable weather conditions, the mandarin oranges are of good quality, with a uniform yellow color and a rich, sweet taste, so they are quickly bought by traders."
"To date, my family has sold about 10 tons of pomelo oranges, bringing in over 350 million VND in revenue. For me, this year's orange harvest is a success," Mr. Duc shared.
The bumper crop of pomelos, along with good prices, has helped the family of Mr. Hoang Dinh Huy (Hoi Son village) have a more prosperous Tet holiday. Mr. Huy said: "With 2 hectares of pomelos, my family has harvested and sold more than 11 tons, generating nearly 400 million VND in revenue."
This year, thanks to relatively favorable weather conditions and the farmers' focus on proper cultivation techniques, the pomelos have a consistent quality, with a high percentage of first-grade fruit. This has helped the pomelos sell quickly and maintain stable prices throughout the Tet holiday season.
The oranges in the ripening orchards of Kim Hoa will be harvested by the local people before Tet (Lunar New Year).
The remaining oranges will be harvested in the new year to meet the demand for gifts from the local people.
Kim Hoa commune is considered the "capital" of pomelo oranges in Ha Tinh province, with an area of over 1,000 hectares. This is concentrated in the villages of Tan Hoa, Kim Linh, Hoi Son, Kim Loc, etc. This year, the local pomelo orange yield is estimated at over 1,000 tons, with about 70% of the production sold during Tet (Lunar New Year). The joy of orange growers when they have a good harvest and good prices.
The mandarin orange orchards in Kim Hoa commune are also a popular destination for sightseeing, experiencing new things, and taking souvenir photos.
This year, the Kim Hoa pomelo harvest was bountiful, the quality was good, and the selling price remained stable, contributing to increased income and improved living standards for the people.
