The Prime Minister inspects the Dong Dang expressway project.

On the morning of February 2nd (the 5th day of the Lunar New Year), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited and presented Tet gifts to officials and workers at the construction site, and inspected, urged, and accelerated the progress of the Dong Dang (Lang Son) - Tra Linh ( Cao Bang ) expressway project.

Accompanying the Prime Minister on the inspection tour of the Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway were Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, Minister of Transport Tran Hong Minh, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, and leaders of various ministries, sectors, and localities.

Earlier, on the evening of February 1st, immediately after concluding the inspection of key projects in the Southeast region, the Prime Minister and his delegation flew to Hanoi and then traveled to Lang Son that same night.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh cordially visited, encouraged, and extended his best New Year wishes to the officials and workers currently working on the construction site.

Commending the workers who have silently dedicated themselves by putting aside personal matters to stay at the construction site during the Tet holiday, the Prime Minister shared that the North-South expressway will be completed in 2025, connecting the North and South. Therefore, the atmosphere of competition on the construction sites has been very hectic and urgent to ensure progress and bring the project to completion on schedule.

The Prime Minister requested the Deo Ca contractor to mobilize additional local contractors to work together, creating conditions for local contractors to develop and grow stronger.

The Prime Minister emphasized that Deo Ca Group has extensive experience in investing in and constructing expressways in many places, but construction in Cao Bang will be more difficult due to the terrain and harsher weather conditions.

Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the application of science and technology in construction to improve labor productivity, ensure progress and quality, labor safety, environmental hygiene, and learn from experience as the work progresses.

The Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway project has a total length of 121km and is divided into two investment phases with a total investment of over 47,000 billion VND.

Phase 1 of the Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway project spans over 93km. The starting point is at the Tan Thanh border gate intersection (Van Lang district, Lang Son province), and the end point is at the National Highway 3 intersection (Chi Thao commune, Quang Hoa district, Cao Bang province). The total investment is 14,114 billion VND, of which state budget funds account for 69.43%, equivalent to 9,800 billion VND.

Once completed, the expressway will shorten travel time from Cao Bang to Hanoi and vice versa from 6-7 hours to approximately 3.5 hours.

The project is being implemented by a consortium of investors led by Deo Ca Group.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh inspects the Dong Khe tunnel on the Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway.

The project commenced on January 11, 2024. According to the schedule, the project is to be completed in 2026, but efforts are being made to open it to traffic in 2025.

According to the report, to date, 93.14 km out of 93.35 km of land along the entire route has been handed over, reaching 99.8% of the route's length. Local authorities and agencies are currently implementing procedures for the construction of 6 resettlement areas and relocating technical infrastructure (22 high-voltage power line locations), with progress generally meeting requirements.

On the occasion of the New Year, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh presented gifts and extended New Year greetings to the people of Duc Long commune, Thach An district, Cao Bang province.

Phase 2 of the project will include expanding the existing 93.35km route with a total investment of VND 3,839 billion and constructing a new 27.71km route connecting to the Tra Linh border gate with a total investment of VND 5,107 billion.
