Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Sao Mai said that there are about 400 international students and 600 Vietnamese people living in Chongqing, accounting for 1/4 of the Vietnamese community living in western China. Sharing about difficulties in operations, Ms. Lan mentioned maintaining traditional customs, language and culture for young overseas Vietnamese born and raised in the host country, as well as attracting overseas Vietnamese resources in commercial investment. 

Mr. Tran Van Dat (PhD student at Chongqing University, President of the Vietnamese Student Association in Chongqing) informed that there are about 400 international students in Chongqing, mainly concentrated in major universities: Chongqing, Southwest, Transport, Industry and Trade... most of them receive full scholarships from Goverment China. International students have access to the most modern transportation technology such as subways, high-speed trains... but also face some difficulties with language and cultural barriers. cuisine, cost of living.

Speaking at the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh conveyed the greetings, health wishes and wishes for success from the Party and State leaders to the people. Informing about the domestic situation, the Prime Minister outlined the historical period of the country from the two resistance wars to the period of siege and embargo. Regarding the overseas Vietnamese community, the Prime Minister said there are currently more than 6 million people living, studying and working in more than 130 countries and territories.

Besides their role as a bridge of friendship, overseas Vietnamese also contribute large resources to the country. The Prime Minister stated that remittances in 2023 will reach 14 billion USD.

Regarding Vietnam-China relations, the Prime Minister stated that China is a neighboring country with a common border, "mountains connected to mountains, rivers connected to rivers", a traditional socialist friend and has close relations with Vietnam.

The Prime Minister hopes that the Vietnamese community in Chongqing will promote the spirit of mutual love and mutual assistance. As for the students, the Prime Minister hopes that they will study well and have ambitions, dreams, aspirations and ideals.
