Mr. Hoa, from area 9, Dong Da ward, Quy Nhon city, one of the chrysanthemum growers here, said that Dong Da ward has a long-standing tradition of growing chrysanthemums. Several dozen households in the ward are involved in this profession.

Mr. Hoa added that his family planted over 6,000 pots of various types of chrysanthemums this season. The chrysanthemums bloomed just in time for Tet (Vietnamese Lunar New Year), making the family very happy. To date, they have sold over 1,000 pots, mainly pompom chrysanthemums. The price of pompom chrysanthemums ranges from 140,000 to 250,000 VND per pot, depending on size. Large-flowered chrysanthemums with a diameter of 2 meters and a height of 1.5 meters are sold for 1.5 million VND per pot.

Ms. Le Thi Le Hang from Quy Nhon Urban Greenery and Lighting Joint Stock Company said that this is the second year the company has ordered chrysanthemums from here. The company plans to buy more than 150 pots to decorate the Nguyen Sinh Sac - Nguyen Tat Thanh monument (Quy Nhon city). In general, the chrysanthemums have many flowers, are fresh, and have eye-catching colors.

Not far away, Mr. Huynh Tu's chrysanthemum garden is constantly attracting buyers. His family owns about 1,000 pots of pompom chrysanthemums and 300 pots of large-flowered chrysanthemums. He has already sold about 30% of his current stock. Mr. Tu said that demand isn't very strong this year, but prices remain stable like in previous years, so his family is happy.

For chrysanthemums, gardeners are selling them for 200,000 - 250,000 VND per pot; large chrysanthemums are selling for 500,000 - 6 million VND per pot depending on the pot diameter. "Having years of experience in the profession, I have my own secrets for caring for them. Thanks to that, the flowers are of good quality, favored by traders, and the selling price is much higher than many other gardeners," Mr. Tu said excitedly.

In Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, the atmosphere in the villages growing Tet flowers has become much more bustling as the peak days for selling flowers approach. This year, despite unfavorable weather conditions with cold temperatures and continuous unseasonal rains, resulting in many flower gardens not blooming beautifully and slower sales compared to previous years, most Tet flower gardens have already received orders from traders and local people.

Since the 20th day of the 12th lunar month, over 2,000 pots of sunflowers, cockscomb, marigolds, etc., belonging to Mr. Ly Quoc Doanh's family in Phuoc Buu town, Xuyen Moc district, have been purchased by traders and transported away for sale, with more than 50% of the quantity already sold. The remaining pots of flowers are expected to be sold from now until the 27th day of the 12th lunar month.

According to Mr. Doanh, compared to previous years, flower prices have increased by more than 10% due to rising input costs. He also stated that this year, due to the weather, many flower gardens did not bloom beautifully; the flower buds remained very green and did not bloom in time for the Lunar New Year, resulting in a slower flower market this year compared to previous years.

Meanwhile, in Phuoc Long Tho commune, Long Dat district, flower-growing villages, gardeners are also busy selling their flowers. Ms. Huynh Thi Thanh Nguyet's garden of petunias, cockscomb, marigolds, and other flowers, totaling 3,000 pots, has already been completely sold to traders. These flowers will be transported away within the next one or two days.

Ms. Nguyet shared that this year's unseasonal rains have significantly affected the flowers, resulting in a less beautiful bloom compared to previous years. "This year, my family has reduced the number of potted flowers we planted by 50% compared to last year, but due to economic difficulties, sales are also slower than usual," Ms. Nguyet shared.

The most bustling atmosphere can be found in Kim Dinh flower village, Ba Ria city. From the 15th day of the 12th lunar month, the entire Tet flower village here becomes vibrant. During these days, hundreds of trucks continuously come and go to transport flowers to large wholesalers in the city and neighboring provinces, serving the Tet market for the Year of the Snake 2025.

According to flower growers in Kim Dinh flower village, this year's Tet flower season has been affected by unfavorable weather, resulting in uneven blooming. Therefore, the selling prices of various flowers have not increased compared to last year. Currently, most growers have sold more than 70% of their potted flowers, which have been transported by traders to various locations. It is expected that all Tet flower pots will be sold by the 25th day of the 12th lunar month.

Kim Dinh Flower Village in Ba Ria City is one of the oldest and first flower villages in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province. According to Mr. Nguyen Van Long, Director of the Kim Dinh Flower Agricultural Service Cooperative in Kim Dinh Ward, Ba Ria City, the slow sales of Tet flowers in Kim Dinh village last year forced many growers to transport their produce far away to sell it all, and some even had to discard unsold flowers. Therefore, this year, the villagers have significantly reduced the area dedicated to flower cultivation. Specifically, while last year the entire ward had over 22 hectares of flower cultivation, this year only about 12 hectares, cultivated by 40 households, remain.

For this year's Tet flower season, Ms. Tran Thi Thu Hang, from Kim Dinh ward, Ba Ria city, planted over 1,000 pots of chrysanthemums and cockscomb flowers, about one-third less than last year. Ms. Hang shared that her family started selling Tet flowers on the 16th day of the lunar month, and so far they have sold over 70% of the pots in their garden. “Although the weather was unfavorable this year, luckily my family's flower garden still bloomed beautifully and right on time for Tet, so sales were quite good. Currently, only a few pots remain,” Ms. Hang shared.

This is the third year that Mr. Ho Van Phong, a trader from Dong Nai province, has bought flowers from Kim Dinh flower village in Ba Ria city to resell. Mr. Phong believes that Kim Dinh flower village in Ba Ria city produces the most beautiful large chrysanthemum pots in the region, a quality unmatched anywhere else, largely due to the experience and cultivation techniques of the local people. Although this year, the flowers in Kim Dinh flower village are not blooming as uniformly as in previous years due to unfavorable weather conditions, resulting in a shortage of beautiful pots, the selling price remains the same as in previous years, with only a few gardens experiencing a slight increase.

The entire province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau currently has nearly 100 hectares of land dedicated to growing Tet flowers, with almost 1 million flower pots of various sizes, mainly traditional varieties such as chrysanthemums, crystal chrysanthemums, spring flowers, cockscomb, sunflowers, marigolds, etc. By this time, all the flowers are in full bloom, ready to be supplied to the market.

Meanwhile, flower markets in the city center and along the main streets of Hue have begun to bustle with activity, serving the decorative needs of the people. According to many vendors, this year's flowers are beautiful and blooming just in time for Tet due to favorable weather conditions, and prices are also stable.

These days, gardeners and small traders are rushing to bring flowers to display at Tet flower markets to ensure timely supply to the market. Not only are there flowers from traditional gardens and flower villages in the city, but many traders are also importing flowers from provinces and cities across the country to meet the diverse needs of the people. In the area around the city's Cultural Center and along streets like Le Duan and Le Quy Don, the abundance of colorful and diverse flowers makes the Tet atmosphere even more vibrant.

Taking advantage of the sunny days, many people went out to the streets to enjoy the spring festivities, check prices, and choose the most beautiful potted flowers to bring home and display. The atmosphere of buying and selling flowers and ornamental plants has become lively. According to many vendors, flower prices this year are as stable as in previous years.

According to reports, yellow chrysanthemums are priced from 500,000 to 5 million VND per pair; pompom chrysanthemums are around 500,000 VND per pair; gerberas, azaleas, petunias, etc., range from 100,000 to 300,000 VND per pot; roses are 250,000 VND per pot; orchids also come in a wide variety of designs and types, with prices ranging from a few hundred thousand to several million VND. Besides traditional Tet flowers such as apricot blossoms, peach blossoms, lilies, and primroses, many businesses are also creating miniature ornamental plants combined with landscapes for indoor decoration, attracting a large number of tourists and locals to visit and choose from.

Yellow chrysanthemums are a popular flower for display during Tet (Lunar New Year) in Hue, so flower markets in Hue are overflowing with the vibrant yellow of chrysanthemums. Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong, residing in Huong Thuy town, said that this Tet season her family grew and sold 600 pots of large chrysanthemums. After three days of display, she had already sold about 100 large pots, mainly to offices, businesses, restaurants, and hotels.

Mr. Ho Trung (Hoi An city, Quang Nam province) said that since the 19th day of the 12th lunar month, he has transported more than 1,000 kumquat trees to the flower market at the Hue City Cultural Center to meet the demand for Tet (Lunar New Year) celebrations. Prices this year are stable compared to previous years. Each tree costs from 200,000 VND to 10 million VND depending on size. At this time, although purchasing power is not yet strong, gardeners hope for smooth sales and to sell out quickly so they can return home to celebrate Tet with their families.
