Comrade Tran Phuong (real name Vu Van Dung), born on November 1, 1927, in Xuan Duc commune, My Van district, Hung Yen province (now Duong Hao commune, Hung Yen province).
He is an alternate member of the 4th Party Central Committee, a member of the 5th Party Central Committee; former Vice Chairman of the Council of Ministers (now Deputy Prime Minister); Minister of Domestic Trade (now Ministry of Industry and Trade); Deputy Chairman of the State Planning Commission (now Ministry of Finance ).
After a period of illness, despite the devoted treatment of the Party, the State, a group of professors and doctors, and the wholehearted care of his family, due to old age and poor health, he passed away at 06:02, October 18, 2025, at the 108 Central Military Hospital.
The visitation, memorial service and burial of comrade Tran Phuong will be announced later.
