Google just updated the AI feature for Gmail. |
The search giant said that in the next two weeks, the Gmail app will appear a new section called "top results" when users perform a search in the Inbox.
This new section, powered by Google's machine learning platform, is able to analyze search terms, most recent emails, or "comparables" to determine which messages are most relevant to a customer's query.
This is the latest move in a change of strategy for email services, including a policy that Google can completely delete the data and content of inactive accounts in the past two years, causing quite a bit of controversy.
In February 2, Google completed the release of the new user interface of the Gmail app, emphasizing the redesign as well as a focus on productivity tools.
CEO Sundar Pichai has outlined strategies to save operating costs, leading the search giant to improve "20% productivity". During Alphabet's latest earnings call, company executives discussed plans to allocate resources to areas including AI and search.
In the blog post, Google said that the new update feature is "requested by many users" and will be released to all account holders and customers.
