Amidst the construction sites still cluttered with materials, the image of soldiers in green uniforms diligently working under the sun and wind, seizing every hour to complete each brick and meter of wall, has become a beautiful symbol of responsibility and the close bond between the military and the people.
Dedicate your efforts to providing homes of love.
In mid-June, the weather in Cong Hai commune was constantly changing. Sudden rain showers followed by intense heat waves created numerous obstacles for the construction work. However, the difficulties of the weather did not deter the border guards.
At the construction site of a house for Mr. Katơr Da's family in Động Thông village, the Party Committee and commanders of the Vĩnh Hải Border Guard Post regularly inspect the progress and encourage the construction force. From logistical support and accommodation for the soldiers to workplace safety conditions, everything is closely monitored, creating the best possible conditions for officers and soldiers to complete their nhiệm vụ.
On the damp ground after the night's rain, the atmosphere was one of bustling activity. Those transporting materials, mixing mortar, and building walls all worked together seamlessly, like a unified assembly line. Sweat soaked their uniforms, but everyone's eyes shone with joy as they watched the house take shape day by day.
Soldier Truong Van Sach from Vinh Hai Border Guard Post shared: “We always encourage each other to overcome difficulties and take advantage of favorable weather to speed up the progress. Each brick laid brings more joy, because we know that a new home is gradually taking shape for the people.”
The house under construction belongs to Mr. Katơr Da, who suffers from congenital deafness and mutism due to the effects of chemical toxins. His family's livelihood has long depended on odd jobs, collecting cow dung, and digging for bamboo shoots to supplement their income. Their old house is severely dilapidated, but their economic situation doesn't allow for repairs or reconstruction.

Therefore, the roof being built is not only a safe shelter from the sun and rain, but also a great source of encouragement, giving the family more confidence to overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.
Thanks to the sense of responsibility and tireless efforts of the forces involved, after nearly a week of deployment, the neatly laid bricks have gradually taken shape for the new house. Each passing day represents another step forward, bringing more hope to the family and the villagers.
According to the commander of the Vinh Hai Border Guard Station, upon receiving the assignment, the unit proactively coordinated with local authorities to arrange accommodation and meals for officers and soldiers; and mobilized militia forces to assist in accelerating the construction progress. Despite the complex weather conditions, officers and soldiers persevered at the construction site, making the most of favorable time to complete the assigned task.
About 50km away, in Ta Noi village, Anh Dung commune, the construction of a house for Mrs. Ta Noi Thi Pech's family is also being carried out with no less urgency.
Under the scorching daytime sun and sudden afternoon showers, officers and soldiers of Phuoc Dinh Border Guard Post, Dong Hai Border Guard Post, and local militia forces worked tirelessly. Some dug foundations, others leveled the ground, some built walls, and others transported materials. This unity helped the new house quickly take shape, bringing joy and anticipation to the family.

Works of responsibility and compassion.
During this period, the Border Guard of Khanh Hoa province was assigned to support the construction of three houses for families of resistance fighters who were exposed to chemical toxins, including the families of Ms. Ta Noi Thi Pech (Anh Dung commune), Mr. Kator Da (Cong Hai commune), and Mr. Mau Hoanh (Khanh Son commune).
To ensure the project progresses as planned, the Provincial Border Guard Command established three working groups with 24 officers and soldiers who directly lived and worked at the construction site. Besides providing labor support, these forces also participated in many important tasks such as transporting materials, digging foundations, pouring concrete, building walls, and other auxiliary work, significantly reducing construction costs for the families.
Despite the unpredictable weather affecting the construction process, the officers and soldiers always upheld a high sense of responsibility, overcoming difficulties and taking advantage of favorable conditions to accelerate progress. The forces coordinated closely, ensuring adherence to technical procedures and construction quality, and were determined to complete the project ahead of schedule.
These houses, nearing completion, are not simply public works. They represent a profound expression of gratitude to families who suffered great losses and sacrifices during the war; they are a vivid testament to the Party and State's policy of caring for the lives of those who rendered meritorious service; and they clearly demonstrate the responsibility, affection, and close bond between the Border Guard forces and the people.

Each home built with the sweat and toil of soldiers today will become a solid foundation for families receiving preferential treatment. Moreover, they will be enduring "milestones of people's hearts," contributing to strengthening national unity and building an increasingly solid people's border defense posture in Khanh Hoa province.
