Endrick has struggled since joining Real Madrid. |
With less than a year to go before the 2026 World Cup, Endrick's position is under serious threat. The 19-year-old striker was absent from the most recent squad, despite several key players being rested as Brazil had already secured their place at the biggest football event on the planet.
Endrick has 14 appearances for the national team, his last call-up being in March. The lack of playing time at Bernabeu is a major challenge. Last season, Endrick only started three La Liga games when Ancelotti was Real Madrid's coach.
At 19, Endrick faced fierce competition for a starting spot at both Madrid and the national team. The Brazilian club also boasted many other young talents, notably Estevao Willian of Chelsea.

Endrick is currently out of favor at Real Madrid. |
Coach Ancelotti admitted: "I like Estevao, he's young, has personality, and is strong-willed. Estevao has had a very good start in the Premier League. Obviously, he's important not only for the World Cup but also for the future of the national team. Endrick is similar to Estevao, a great talent. But Estevao is luckier."
"The problem with young players coming to Europe is that they don't get many opportunities. I worked with Endrick for a year and really liked him, both his personality and his skills. Endrick couldn't play as well as he could because Real Madrid had Rodrygo and Vinicius. That affected his development a little."
Endrick has yet to play for Real Madrid this season due to injury. He also missed the opportunity to join another club on loan during this summer's transfer window.
