Winner of the "I'm a Radio Announcer" Contest

Having successfully passed the preliminary and semi-final rounds, Tường Vy became one of the 23 finalists and excellently won the top prize in the 3rd "I Am a Radio Announcer" competition in 2025, organized by the An Giang Provincial Newspaper and Radio and Television Station.

Tuong Vy is currently a 5th grade student in class 5/2 at Dong Hoa 4 Primary School in Dong Hoa commune. For many years, she has been the top student in her grade, actively participating in the Youth Union activities and winning numerous awards such as second prize in the beautiful handwriting competition, the top Vietnamese language award at the district level, and third prize in the beautiful envelope design competition at the provincial level. However, Tuong Vy admits that she is still shy in front of crowds and her communication skills are not yet fluent. Her family encouraged her to participate in the "I am a Radio Announcer" competition to improve her speaking skills and express herself.

In 2024, Tuong Vy registered to participate in the competition but had to stop at the final round. Mr. Nguyen Van Dung - her maternal grandfather and also her companion throughout the competition - shared: "Vy's father had a serious illness. Just about 10 days before the final round, his illness worsened and he passed away, so Vy had to withdraw from the competition."

In the summer of 2025, as her grief gradually subsided, her family continued to encourage her to return to the competition to fulfill her unfinished dream. “Through each round of the competition, I gradually matured, becoming more confident in showcasing my talents and presenting on stage. Before he passed away, my father told me to study hard and continue pursuing my dreams. This award is a gift I want to give to my father,” Tuong Vy expressed.

To reach the championship title, Tuong Vy displayed confidence and stage presence in each round, especially in the final round. In this round, she delivered a coherent and emotionally rich speech, followed by an intelligent Q&A session that completely won over the judges. When asked, "If you stumble or make a mistake while reading, how do you handle it?", Tuong Vy replied, "I will stop, apologize, and correct myself, trying to complete the rest of the performance and learn from the experience for future attempts."

Ms. Nguyen Thuy Duong, Tuong Vy's mother, shared: "When I encouraged Vy to participate in the competition, I hoped she would have a platform to gain experience and become more confident in front of crowds, but I'm so happy that she won the top prize. She's a bit shy at home, but when she stood on stage, Tuong Vy confidently performed her segment." From choosing the song, dance, speech topic, costume, and fashion show, Vy researched everything herself online, sought advice from her teachers, practiced at home, and shone on stage.

Nguyen Tran Dong Nhu's artwork, "Beloved Earth, Keep Going!", reached the finals of the 2021 National Online Painting Competition.

Nurturing a passion for painting.

In 2021, at the age of 7, Nguyen Tran Dong Nhu, a 6th grade student at Nguyen Du Junior High School in Rach Gia Ward, participated in a nationwide online children's painting competition with her artwork, "Oh, Beloved Earth, Keep Going!". The painting depicted the Earth's sadness over the COVID-19 pandemic, but it was embraced and comforted by the Moon Goddess, along with police officers and medical staff working day and night to fight the pandemic and protect children so they could go to school and play. With the message, "Stay strong, Vietnam will defeat COVID-19," the artwork helped Dong Nhu reach the final round of the competition, motivating her to nurture her passion for painting.

Inheriting her talent from her mother, an art teacher, Dong Nhu showed her drawing ability from a very young age. “At just 2 or 3 years old, as soon as she could hold a pen, she started drawing her first scribbles. After that, Nhu drew with sticks, loved sculpting cute and adorable animals out of clay, and from then on, I created every opportunity for her to express her talent and passion for painting,” shared Tran Thi Thu Huong, Dong Nhu's mother.

From a young age, Dong Nhu was guided by her mother in basic drawing techniques, composition, perspective, color coordination, and was exposed to various art materials… Once she grasped the basics, Dong Nhu freely expressed her creativity through each stroke, from cartoon characters, landscapes, and pets to themes close to everyday life, conveying her innocent emotions and rich imagination.

In the 4th and 5th grades, Dong Nhu continued to participate in drawing competitions organized by the Provincial Library, winning second and third prizes respectively. Recently, she won the B prize in the children's drawing competition with the theme "An Giang Children Love Vietnam's Seas and Islands," organized by the Provincial Youth Activities and Youth Entrepreneurship Center. Dong Nhu said that when she received the theme from the competition organizers, she often consulted many paintings on the internet, selecting beautiful drawings and good ideas to develop into her own. After having an idea and a complete sketch of the painting, her mother would give feedback to help her perfect the artwork. "Every day, I spend about 3 hours drawing. Each completed artwork not only helps me hone my skills but also allows me to record what I observe and feel in life," Dong Nhu said.

Nguyen Tran Dong Nhu drew a portrait of a pet.

Despite her passion for drawing, Dong Nhu doesn't neglect her studies, achieving excellent results for many consecutive years. Besides studying diligently, she actively participates in drawing competitions for her school and class, gaining experience and honing her drawing skills to pursue her dream of becoming an artist or graphic designer in the future.

From the stage to the colorful easel, these young talents strive to prove themselves through their passion. The support and love of their families and teachers are the foundation that allows them to continue confidently shining on their journey to pursue their dreams.
