To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Vietnam's Cultural Heritage Day (November 23, 2005 - November 23, 2025), the Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter Management Board is organizing a series of activities to promote and honor the heritage, lasting from now until December 15.

The series of activities began with a program celebrating 30 years of the heritage value of Hanoi's Ao Dai (traditional Vietnamese dress) at the 40 Lan Ong historical site.

At the Kim Ngan communal house (42-44 Hang Bac Street), the "Kim Ngan Communal House Storytelling Space" project is underway. This project utilizes the unique patterns of the Kim Ngan communal house to create a unified visual identity for the architecture, signage, and display items. The space recreates the traditional guild council, showcasing traditional products such as jewelry and horn products, while also displaying research on the application of these patterns in tourism publications and souvenirs. This is an important step towards synchronizing the cultural heritage space within the Old Quarter.

On the evening of November 22nd, a heritage music performance titled "Stories of Old Town Music" took place at Kim Ngan Temple. Organized by the management board in collaboration with the Dong Kinh Ancient Music group, the program brought together many leading artists of traditional music.

This year's anniversary celebration will feature performances of the finest traditional Vietnamese music in an atmosphere reminiscent of the old town. Visitors can also experience printing traditional motifs themselves using Thanh Lieu woodblocks and creating souvenirs from traditional materials such as silk, wood, and Do paper.
