On the morning of June 17th, within the framework of the Vietnam-Japan Cultural and Trade Exchange Program in Can Tho City (June 17th-18th), an Investment and Trade Promotion Workshop for Japanese businesses was held.

Speaking at the workshop, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City, Nguyen Van Hong, said that Can Tho City currently has 6 projects with direct investment capital from Japan, totaling 1.35 billion USD, leading in the amount of registered investment capital in the city.

"The workshop has given Can Tho City a new opportunity to turn aspirations into belief and reality, welcoming potential Japanese investors to Can Tho City to cooperate and develop together in the future," emphasized Nguyen Van Hong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City.

At the workshop, Can Tho City introduced its potential, strengths, and investment cooperation opportunities in various fields: supporting industries, processing and manufacturing industries, high technology, and logistics, including key projects.

Ms. OGAWA Megumi, Deputy Consul General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City, stated that for Japanese businesses, the primary attraction of Can Tho City is its high-quality workforce, derived from Can Tho University, the leading university in the country in the fields of agriculture , fisheries, and environment. Currently, several Japanese businesses have invested in Can Tho City in the food processing sector.

* Earlier that morning, an exhibition showcasing Vietnamese-Japanese ao dai collections and a photo exhibition titled "Vietnam: War and Peace " took place at Luu Huu Phuoc Park in Can Tho City.
