The Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee has just issued a conclusion on the framework for the number of deputy heads of specialized agencies under the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.
Specifically, the Office of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City is allocated a maximum of 10 deputy heads; the Department of Finance, the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the Department of Construction, and the Department of Home Affairs each have a maximum of 8 deputy heads.

The Department of Education and Training, the Department of Health, the Department of Culture and Sports, and the City Inspectorate are each allocated a maximum of 6 deputy heads. The Department of Justice, the Department of Industry and Trade, and the Department of Science and Technology are allocated a maximum of 5 deputy heads.
For the remaining agencies, the Department of Planning and Architecture, the Department of Tourism , and the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religion are allocated a maximum of 3 deputy heads each; the Department of Food Safety is allocated a maximum of 2 deputy heads.
The Standing Committee of the City Party Committee assigns the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the City People's Committee to lead and organize the implementation of this conclusion. The Party Committee of the City People's Committee, in coordination with the City Party Committee's Organization Department, will review and develop a roadmap to reduce the number of deputy positions, which currently exceeds regulations, striving to complete this by 2026.
In cases where the addition of functions and tasks to an agency necessitates an adjustment in the number of deputy heads, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the People's Committee of the city, in coordination with the City Party Committee's Organization Department and relevant agencies, shall review, evaluate, and report to the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee for consideration and adjustment in accordance with regulations.
The Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee requests that relevant agencies and units seriously implement the plan, ensuring uniformity, compliance with regulations, and alignment with the requirements for streamlining the city's administrative apparatus.
