In sync with the heartbeat of the nation.
These days, the atmosphere of election preparation in localities is bustling and urgent. At the polling station in Binh Tri Dong ward (Ho Chi Minh City), Pham Quang Thang (34 years old, Secretary of the Youth Union of the High-Tech Agricultural Zone Management Board, Outstanding Young Citizen of Ho Chi Minh City, Ly Tu Trong Award 2026) and his fellow Youth Union members are busy with the final preparations for voting day, such as reviewing voter lists, checking information boards, participating in cleaning and decorating the polling area… The enthusiastic participation of young people not only contributes to more thorough preparation but also creates an atmosphere of excitement towards this nationwide event.
Having voted three times, Pham Quang Thang still feels a special sense of excitement and pride. “As a young voter, I expect that the elected candidates will continue to pay more attention to policies for young people. Today’s youth have many aspirations to contribute and many creative ideas… When given opportunities and a favorable environment, young people will effectively fulfill their roles and responsibilities and contribute increasingly to the development of the country and the city,” said Quang Thang.

Working at the Chanh Hung Ward Youth Union (Ho Chi Minh City), young woman Doan Thi Thuy Hang, along with other youth union members of the ward, actively participated in many activities contributing to the preparation for the election. Notable activities included the "Contest to learn about the election of National Assembly and People's Council representatives at all levels," which helped youth union members raise awareness of the significance of election day as well as the rights and obligations of citizens; and the launch of a digital map of polling stations, helping people easily look up information, identify polling locations, and access election-related content conveniently and transparently.
In particular, the program "Going door to door - Bringing digital technology directly to voters" was implemented directly by youth union members in residential areas. Groups of union members went to each house, guiding residents on how to use digital maps to look up polling locations, access election information, and answer related questions.
Sharing her feelings during the days of preparing for the election, Doan Thi Thuy Hang expressed: “When participating with fellow union members in supporting the people, I clearly felt the civic responsibility in each ballot. Many elderly people were very eager to go to the polls, researching information and making plans to go to the polls on time. Then, during the voter outreach sessions, the people participated in large numbers, raising many practical issues of the locality.”
Proud to be a voter
Arranging his study schedule to attend local voter outreach events and election training, young Phi Ngoc Duc (a student at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and a voter in Binh Quoi ward) couldn't hide his nervousness, but also his excitement at exercising his rights and civic duties for the first time. "The moment I received my voter card made me realize I've truly matured and become more aware of my responsibility to the country and society," Phi Ngoc Duc said.
Similarly, also a first-time voter, Luong Kieu Thuy (a student at Saigon University, residing in Hung Long commune, Ho Chi Minh City) proactively sought information about the national election and followed the action programs of the candidates through the local Fanpage.
Thúy shared: “Every day, I check the commune's Fanpage for updates on local affairs, especially election information, candidate lists, and biographies… This helps busy working and studying people like me stay informed. This is my first time voting, so I feel very excited. On the day I received my ballot, I thought that seriously choosing worthy candidates is also a way to fulfill my civic responsibility and contribute a small part to the success of this national event.”
From local voter support activities to the emotions of first-time voters, it's clear that many young people are embracing civic responsibility with initiative and confidence.
As the younger generation becomes more aware of their role in important political events of the country, the "National Election Day" is not just about exercising the right to vote; it is also an opportunity to cultivate love for the homeland and a sense of responsibility to the community through concrete actions. From these small but responsible votes, the people's faith in the country's development continues to be affirmed, nurtured, and spread.
