Outstanding Radar Station Chief

On a beautiful sunny day in Quang Ngai, we visited Radar Station 550 of Regiment 351, Region 3 of the Navy, stationed on Ly Son Island, to meet Major Cao Xuan Duy, who had just received the title of "Most Outstanding Radar Station Commander of the Navy in 2024".

Radar Station 550 is tasked with closely observing and controlling its assigned sea area, ensuring it remains unprepared in all situations. The station's officers and personnel will observe, detect, and monitor the activities of ships and boats operating in the sea under their management via radar screens, accurately reporting to higher-level command centers for timely action when situations arise. While seemingly simple, this task requires the station's officers and soldiers to undergo thorough, practical, and proficient training to effectively use and master the radar equipment in the unit's inventory.
