The producer of the film "Southern Forest Land" organized a meeting and film premiere with the cast and crew on the afternoon of September 20 in Ho Chi Minh City.

At the event, Tran Thanh, as an investor and actor, received many questions about his role as Uncle Ba Phi. Tran Thanh said that the TV series "Dat Phuong Nam" is his favorite work and the role of Uncle Ba Phi played by actor Mac Can is also a classic role.

Therefore, some audiences have the right to compare and criticize his appearance because they were deeply impressed with the image of Uncle Ba Phi in the TV series. "I was also a bit hesitant when invited to play a classic role. However, I am a person who likes challenges because challenges stimulate creativity. I tried to do something different, create a different image of Uncle Ba Phi and believe that this version is completely new. It is not the image of a cute Uncle Ba Phi, telling funny stories to everyone, but a different role that when the audience goes to the cinema, they will recognize this difference" - Tran Thanh shared.

He also added that if every filmmaker was afraid of comparison, there would never be a new version of classic works. Each work in each different period would bring about differences due to budget, technical means, script, director's way of telling... Therefore, the films "Journey to the West", "The Condor Heroes"... have been made in countless versions and although there are conflicting opinions, each version has different elements.

Director Nguyen Quang Dung believes that Tran Thanh is suitable for the role of Uncle Ba Phi. Because this role requires an actor who is articulate but contains many hidden meanings in that eloquence. The film's artistic advisor is director Vinh Son - director of "Dat Phuong Nam", hoping that the audience will respect the difference because after 25 years the film has been remade, there must be changes.

When the event ended, Hari Won was invited to the stage to take souvenir photos with the film crew. Tran Thanh did not hesitate to kiss his wife on the cheek for coming to support him. The couple smiled brightly.

"Southern Forest Land" is a work inspired by the story of writer Doan Gioi, recounting the journey of a boy named An in search of his father. On the long journey along the Southern land, An received support and love from the generous and righteous Southern people. The boy grew up and understood the reason why his father left him.

The movie will be released on October 20 and there will be a part 2 if it is well received and supported by the audience.
