Social insurance officials in Phu Tho province are educating the public about the benefits of participating in health insurance.
Continuing its charitable journey, the Provincial Social Insurance agency recently presented 110 health insurance cards to disadvantaged people in Hop Kim commune. Each card given is a practical act of sharing, helping disadvantaged people feel secure in receiving medical care, reducing the burden of hospital fees, and simultaneously igniting hope and encouraging them to overcome difficulties and strive for a better life.
As one of the recipients of health insurance cards in this round, Ms. Quach Thi Nghia from Hop Kim commune emotionally shared: “My family still faces many hardships, so we didn't have the opportunity to participate in health insurance before. When I received the health insurance card from the program, I was truly grateful. For me, this is not only a health care card but also a support system to alleviate my worries whenever I am sick or ill.”
Aiming for universal health insurance coverage so that all citizens receive healthcare, the Provincial Social Insurance Agency is constantly striving to implement comprehensive solutions to increase health insurance participation. Along with proactively advising Party committees and authorities at all levels on solutions to expand health insurance coverage, the Provincial Social Insurance Agency is strengthening coordination with departments, agencies, and organizations to promote public awareness of health insurance policies; coordinating with the health sector to improve the quality of health insurance-covered medical examinations and treatments; and promoting administrative reform, digital transformation, and improving the quality of service to the people, ensuring the rights of participants. To date, the province has approximately 3.3 million people participating in health insurance, reaching a rate of 94.3%.
Besides successfully fulfilling its assigned political tasks, the Phu Tho Provincial Social Insurance Agency has always actively participated in patriotic emulation movements and implemented social welfare, humanitarian, and charitable activities. The program of donating health insurance cards to people in difficult circumstances is a traditional activity with profound humanitarian significance, implemented by the Provincial Social Insurance Agency for many years. These donated cards represent not only material support but also spiritual encouragement, motivating those in difficult circumstances to strive harder, overcome immediate difficulties, and gradually stabilize their finances to continue participating in health insurance for themselves and help others participate. This contributes to creating a sense of security and deep trust among the people in the social welfare policies of the Party and the State; spreading and conveying good, humane values, and promoting the Vietnamese tradition of "mutual support."
To effectively implement the program, the Provincial Social Insurance Agency annually issues plans, organizes campaigns, and promotes awareness of the program's significance. Besides funding contributed by civil servants, employees, and workers throughout the agency, the Provincial Social Insurance Agency actively promotes and mobilizes support from philanthropists, organizations, and businesses, helping more and more people in difficult circumstances receive health insurance cards. With the message "Giving compassion, spreading love," the Provincial Social Insurance Agency has collaborated with sponsors to donate thousands of health insurance cards to people in difficult circumstances. Specifically, since the beginning of this year, 338 health insurance cards have been donated with a total value of 225 million VND.
The health insurance card donation program has created a strong ripple effect, mobilizing businesses, organizations, and benevolent individuals to jointly support funding, contributing to the goal of universal health insurance, creating conditions for more disadvantaged people to participate in healthcare, ensuring social security, and spreading the humanitarian value of the health insurance policy.
In the coming period, the Provincial Social Insurance Agency will continue to implement comprehensive solutions to improve efficiency and deepen the program of donating health insurance cards to disadvantaged individuals, creating a strong ripple effect. The focus will be on continuing to effectively carry out propaganda, mobilization, and resource allocation to help more disadvantaged people participate in health insurance; coordinating with localities in reviewing, compiling lists, and providing timely support to those in need. At the same time, it will strengthen communication activities to bring health insurance policies into practice.
