When it comes to small-screen tablet options, the iPad Mini currently stands out in the market. This convenient mobile device offers many advantages for learning and gaming, but it receives less attention from Android brands. The newly launched Redmi K Pad from Xiaomi has become a viable alternative to the iPad Mini, boasting better specifications and a lower price.

The Chinese company's product draws heavily on inspiration from its competitor, featuring a square frame and vibrant colors. The 8.8-inch screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio doesn't make it significantly larger than the iPad Mini. The device is comfortable to hold with one hand. However, the K Pad lacks fingerprint security and a SIM card slot.

This screen's specifications also surpass those of the iPad, boasting 3K resolution, a 165Hz refresh rate, and stylus support. However, in reality, the panel used is somewhat pale and lacks high contrast. On the other hand, the Redmi K Pad has thinner bezels than its Apple counterpart.

Aimed at gamers, Xiaomi's product features two charging ports, one at the bottom and one on the side. Users can choose the port that best suits their posture. Additionally, when plugged in, the K Pad uses direct power instead of the battery to reduce heat and prevent component degradation.

Its optimized operating system and vast app store are areas where Android tablets fall short.

While sharing many similarities, the Redmi K Pad's surface finish and weight distribution could be improved to deliver a more premium experience. It is currently unclear whether Xiaomi will distribute this product in Vietnam.
