Showcasing traditional ethnic costumes of various ethnic groups.

NDO - As part of the 2025 Khau Vai Fair Festival, a traditional ethnic costume performance competition was held on April 22nd in Meo Vac town (Ha Giang).

Twenty teams, with over 200 contestants from schools in Meo Vac district, participated in the competition. The contestants were from ethnic minority groups including H'Mong, Dao, Lo Lo, Xuong, and Giay.

The competing teams participated in two categories: a traditional costume performance set to music, followed by a presentation and introduction of the costume; and a talent competition, where each team performed one self-chosen act (singing, dancing, playing the flute, or playing the reed pipe) showcasing their ethnic identity.

The competing teams will participate in two parts: a costume show and a talent competition.

Comrade Ngo Manh Cuong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Meo Vac District, said that organizing the ethnic costume performance competition aims to preserve, promote, and honor the traditional cultural identity of ethnic groups. This will awaken national pride, raise awareness of heritage preservation, and promote the positive spirit and self-reliance of ethnic minority communities.

The competition contributes to preserving and promoting the cultural identity of ethnic groups in Meo Vac district.

The competition will be an opportunity for people of different ethnic groups in the area to interact, learn, and exchange experiences in the work of preserving and promoting traditional cultural values. It will strengthen solidarity and cohesion, and work together to build and develop a healthy and progressive cultural life at the grassroots level.

In addition, the competition is also an opportunity to promote the diverse culture of the ethnic groups in Meo Vac district to tourists.
