Financial assistance
To promote the development of the collective economy, the Ca Mau Provincial Cooperative Union is implementing a comprehensive set of financial solutions. These include facilitating cooperatives' access to development support funds for infrastructure investment; and proactively integrating programs from national target projects to support struggling cooperative members, increase their income, improve their living standards, and focus on developing the collective economy.

Mr. Nguyen Van Vu, Chairman of the Ca Mau Provincial Cooperative Union, said: "Over the years, the Provincial Cooperative Union has supported many cooperatives in investing in expanding production scale and purchasing equipment... from the cooperative development support fund. At the same time, we have taken advantage of support funds from national target programs on building new rural areas to support cooperatives."
In particular, in 2025, the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance also supported 5 projects, totaling nearly 4 billion VND, for cooperatives in the area. This helped cooperatives expand their production scale, increase income for their members, and gradually affirm their role and position in collective business models.”
Assistance from grant programs
At the end of 2025, the Tien Bo Agricultural Service Cooperative in U Minh town, Nguyen Phich commune, received support in the form of breeding stock from the Institute of Science, Technology and Environment in coordination with the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance. This support helped disadvantaged cooperative members develop family economic models. Accordingly, 31 cooperative members received support in the form of 93 piglets along with animal feed.
Mr. Do Van So, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tien Bo Agricultural Service Cooperative in U Minh town, Nguyen Phich commune, said: “This pig breeding support model is highly appreciated by the cooperative members. Each member receives 3 piglets, along with feed according to the pigs' growth stage until they are ready for market, which is very convenient for the farmers. To date, some households have sold their pigs and restocked. The model is effective and creates stable income for the cooperative members.”
Mr. Le Van Tiep received support in the form of piglets and pig feed.
Mr. Le Van Tiep, from Hamlet 23, Nguyen Phich Commune, is one of the households that received support in the form of piglets. Thanks to careful care, the pigs have now reached a weight of about 120 kg, and he is preparing to sell them. Mr. Tiep said: “The cooperative supported my family with 3 piglets and 600 kg of pig feed. At the current selling price, it will probably bring in more than 18 million VND. With this money, I will renovate the pigpens and buy more piglets to replenish the herd. This model suits my family's conditions and is effective, so I am very happy.”
Specifically, the Khanh Hung Clean Fruit Cooperative, located in Khanh Hung commune, received 7 tons of organic fertilizer to care for its orchards. The organic fertilizer improves soil quality and protects crops, thus helping them grow well and resist pests and diseases, which has greatly pleased the cooperative members.
Mr. Le Minh Khon, Director of Khanh Hung Clean Fruit Cooperative, shared: “ At the end of 2025, the Cooperative Alliance provided organic fertilizer to the members of my cooperative. This fertilizer is very effective, and this support is exactly what we need and is suitable for the actual conditions and situation of the cooperative, so we are very pleased . ”
With the support from national capital sources and targeted projects implemented by the Ca Mau Provincial Cooperative Union, many cooperatives have overcome difficulties in production. The effectiveness of these models has not only increased income for cooperative members but also made a significant contribution to poverty reduction and promoted the development of the collective economy in the locality.
