In recent days, the number of domestic and international tourists visiting Cat Tien National Park has increased significantly. Returning home after stressful days of studying, Ms. Truong Diem Quynh (from Cat Tien commune, Lam Dong province) and her group of friends decided to treat themselves to a relaxing day amidst the lush green forest at Cat Tien National Park. Visiting Cat Tien National Park for the first time, the cool, refreshing air, a stark contrast to the prolonged hot weather in the city, and coinciding with the season of flowers and butterflies, made for a truly "chill" day for Ms. Quynh and her friends. They cycled through the forest, admiring the vibrant summer flowers beginning to bloom, such as the cassia and crape myrtle. They also gazed at unique, centuries-old trees preserved in the park, such as the ancient tung tree, the hundred-trunk fig tree, the six-branched crape myrtle (Dalbergia tonkinensis), and the banyan tree with its lucky branches…

By 2025, Cat Tien National Park is expected to welcome 160,000 tourists who will stay, visit, and explore the park's unique biodiversity. Total revenue from tourism activities is projected to exceed 24 billion VND.

Ms. Quynh shared: “Although cycling was tiring, the natural scenery and colorful flowers here made us incredibly excited to explore. Even though it was our first time experiencing this place, I already felt a deep affection for it. We will definitely return to Cat Tien to explore other seasons of the year and fully appreciate the beauty of Cat Tien National Park.”

Assessing current tourism market trends, Mr. Viet said: "In the last three years, the number of tourists visiting the park has increased by about 50% annually. In particular, the number of domestic tourists has increased, mainly from Ho Chi Minh City and Lam Dong, and the number of students participating in outdoor activities has also increased significantly compared to previous years. This shows the growing trend of tourists seeking nature in general, and the increasing demand for learning about nature and education among students, aiming to raise awareness and responsibility for protecting nature. The number of international tourists has also increased by 15-20%. "As the number of visitors increases, the park proactively strengthens its management, ensuring a harmonious balance between conservation efforts and promoting the development of forest ecotourism," Mr. Viet added.

Cat Tien National Park covers a total area of ​​over 71,000 hectares, surrounded by more than 80km of the Dong Nai River. The park boasts rich biodiversity with over 1,700 animal species and over 1,600 plant species. This biodiversity gives Cat Tien National Park a crucial role in ecosystem development and biodiversity conservation, and it was recognized and classified as a Special National Monument by the Government in 2021.

Over the past 25 years, Cat Tien National Park has received numerous awards and recognitions related to its cultural and historical heritage, conservation, and biodiversity, ranking among the world's leading parks. Notable examples include UNESCO's recognition as a World Biosphere Reserve in 2001; and the Bau Sau Wetland being recognized as a Ramsar site of international importance by the Ramsar Convention Secretariat in 2005. Furthermore, in 2024 and 2025, Cat Tien National Park was officially recognized by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) as achieving IUCN Green List status; and received four international ecotourism awards 2025 (AEN-IEA 2025) from the Asian Ecotourism Network (AEN) in the categories of Biodiversity Conservation, Ecotourism Promotion, Destination Governance, and Community Service.
