In the orientation of using specialized competency assessment exams as the main method, the school will organize this exam as an independent exam.
It is expected that this method will include the use of two subjects for admission to each major, in which one main subject is multiplied by a coefficient of 2 and one secondary subject is not multiplied by a coefficient, helping to comprehensively assess the candidate's learning ability and suitability to the requirements of each major.
The school will adjust the admission combination to suit the high school graduation exam subjects from 2025.
Accordingly, the school still ensures to maintain the admission combinations of 2024 in methods using high school graduation exam scores suitable for exam subjects from 2025.
At the same time, the school will adjust combinations that are no longer suitable, such as eliminating combinations with natural sciences, social sciences, etc., and adding new combinations with subjects of economic and legal education, information technology, and technology.
Admission methods and expected admission quota ratios
In 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education plans to enroll students in 4 ways:
– Direct admission (method 1) according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training: 10% of the target.
– Priority admission and admission of specialized class students (method 2): 10% – 20%.
– Admission based on specialized competency assessment exam (method 3): 40% – 50%. It is expected that more than 30 industries will use this method.
– Admission based on the 2024 high school graduation exam (method 4): 20% – 40% for majors with method 3 or 70% – 80% for majors without method 3.
– The school also added an aptitude test specifically for the national defense and security education sector. The admission method includes one cultural subject (from the specialized competency assessment test or high school graduation exam) and two aptitude tests.
“This helps to properly assess candidates' abilities and create conditions for selecting candidates with the right abilities for this industry,” Mr. Trung explained.
In addition, students from all classes of high schools under Ho Chi Minh City University of Education will be added to the priority admission and admission list for specialized class students.
