Shaking the image
Bang Kieu has caused himself to receive harsh criticism on social media for making an "inappropriate" comment about G-Dragon - a singer who just successfully held two concerts in Vietnam.
In a photo posted on his personal page on November 10 with Quoc Thien and Trung Quan Idol, the singer Trai tim ben le felt sad when he saw many colleagues going to see G-Dragon's concert and wondered if any artists from other countries would support the Vietnamese star when he went to Korea to perform. "It makes me feel a bit sad, maybe I'm a bit subjective, but if it's just about expertise, just the three people in the photo are 'better' than the other person," the singer said.

Bang Kieu apologizes after being criticized for his "inappropriate" statement regarding G-Dragon. |
While G-Dragon just ended his concert with nearly 100,000 spectators and the concert market became vibrant again thanks to the presence of foreign artists, Bang Kieu's comparison with the male idol made G-Dragon fans and the Kpop community angry.
Even Quoc Thien - the singer in the photo that Bang Kieu dragged into the story - was also the one holding a lightstick and running to the gate of G-Dragon's concert to check in on time. Many other artists such as Tung Duong, Tang Phuc, Phuong Ly, Dieu Nhi, Quoc Anh, Duong Hoang Yen... were there to support the Big Bang leader. Soobin was the one who came to the concert on night 1 to learn more about the male idol. He said he wanted to learn about the organization and performance of artists from a developed entertainment industry like Korea.

It didn’t take long for Bang Kieu to realize how much his words had affected him. He apologized, removed the post, and said that it was just a joke, not meant to attack or compare anyone.
Bang Kieu’s moment of sadness brought trouble to him personally. Many people “dug up” the times he made controversial statements on social networks. The goodwill built up from the show “Anh trai vu ngan cong gai” is also being shaken. On Threads, a part of the audience who love the “talents” said they are no longer interested in supporting Bang Kieu.
Respecting differences
Each individual, each generation has its own strengths. Bang Kieu's sadness is considered by many to be inappropriate at the right time and place. Just comparing Bang Kieu, Quoc Thien, and Trung Quan to G-Dragon is too lame because of the differences in the two cultures, music genres, generations, audiences, and the way they operate in the entertainment industry... Can anyone guarantee that Bang Kieu would do as well as G-Dragon if he followed the male idol's style and vice versa?

Audiences pointed out that in reality, the leaders in showbiz are usually entertainers (Perfomer) and not singers (Vocalist). Entertainers attract a large fan base not only because of their singing but also because of many other factors.
Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Britney Spears and Rihanna are all proof that they don't just sing, they tell stories, build brands, shape fashion and inspire culture.
The artists leading the Hallyu wave at this time are still famous groups like BTS, BlackPink... and not any prominent singers.
American blogger Alexandra Baackes said watching the concert of “Princess of Pop” Britney Spears in Las Vegas was one of the most memorable moments in her 26 years of life, despite many rumors about the singer lip-syncing.
She said it was a fulfilling and emotional experience. The crowd went wild when the stage lights came on. Not just because of the music , but because they got to see their idol in the flesh right in front of them.

“Every melody of Baby One More Time or Toxic made the audience sing along, dance and relive their youth. The stage was elaborately staged, the lighting, costumes and choreography all carried the spirit that Britney once captivated the world with,” the blogger recalled.
According to her and many other fans, their idols' voices may not be perfect, but the energy and real emotions they bring make all doubts disappear.
When it comes to vocals, comparing a technical singer to a rapper or a music producer is like comparing a cat’s ability to climb a tree to a fish’s. Each has their own strengths, and cannot be judged by the same criteria.
Many people still think that singing well means straining your voice, singing high notes, and showing off your technique. But for many audiences, a good song is one that makes them want to listen to it over and over again. In many countries, the most famous and influential artists are often those who know how to compose and shape their own music with their own personal touch, while also reaching the tastes of the majority.

G-Dragon is one of the icons when it comes to Kpop. |
G-Dragon is a rapper, musician, once ranked in the top 10 Korean composers, a fashion icon with countless domestic and international awards. The training of Kpop idols is often strict and comprehensive. In addition to singing, they are also trained in performance skills, choreography, composition, arrangement and production thinking. It is this systematic training system that has contributed to the Hallyu wave spreading throughout Asia and reaching Europe and America.
The music scene of many Southeast Asian countries, including Vietnam, is still quite far behind that of developed markets such as Europe, America or Korea. The difference lies not only in the level of artists but also in the music ecosystem, from training, production, investment, to promotion strategy.
A phenomenon or star becoming famous is never a story of individual talent alone. It is the result of a long process, the overall nature of a national music industry.
