From movement to professional quality

VHO - The provincial-level school sports competition for the 2025-2026 school year, organized by the Quang Tri Department of Education and Training, has concluded with many positive impressions. The competition showed a clear shift in the professional quality of participating students, reflecting the systematic investment and correct orientation in physical education at schools.

Ms. Le Thi Huong, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri province, presented the first prize to the entire team.

Taking place in two phases from early to mid-April 2026, the competition attracted 4,450 athletes from 75 communes and wards, and 71 high schools and vocational training centers. The large scale and thorough preparation from the grassroots level resulted in a relatively even level of expertise among the participating teams.

Although not professional athletes, many students demonstrated solid technique, competed confidently, adhered to tactics, and maintained composure under pressure. A significant number achieved high results, approaching professional levels, showcasing the effectiveness of regular training at school.

The outstanding achievements of some teams also reflect the in-depth investment in physical education at these units.

According to the Organizing Committee's assessment, the athletes displayed a "distinctively professional" style of competition, evident in their technique, discipline, fighting spirit, and adaptability in a competitive environment. From a friendly competition, this year's contest has gradually raised the standards, aiming for genuine and sustainable quality.

The competition was judged to be of high quality and professionalism.

Beyond simply being a competition, the tournament also serves as an important platform for experience and practice. The scientifically organized competition system, well-structured schedule, and the supervision of nearly 250 highly qualified referees ensure that matches are conducted fairly, accurately, and according to the rules. Under these standardized competition conditions, athletes have the opportunity to hone their skills, improve their situational awareness, and gain experience – crucial elements for aspiring to reach regional and national levels.

Sharing his thoughts on the competition results, Mr. Phan Huu Huyen, Deputy Director of the Quang Tri Department of Education and Training, said: “What we clearly see is the improved professional quality of the students. They not only competed with determination but also demonstrated progress in technique and competitive thinking. This is an important foundation for further nurturing and discovering talents with the potential to develop in larger competitions.”

Many events in the competition attracted large crowds of spectators.

From a viewer's perspective, Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai, a parent whose child participated in the competition, expressed her surprise at the quality of the children's performance: "The children competed very professionally, no longer simply as a recreational activity like before. Many matches were of high quality, fiercely contested, but still maintained a spirit of fair play."

The Provincial School Sports Competition for the 2025-2026 school year is therefore not only a place for competition but also an opportunity for students to interact, learn, and spread the movement of sports training in the community. From running steps and punches to breakthroughs on the field, the image of a generation of dynamic, healthy, and confident students is gradually being shaped, creating a foundation for the sustainable development of school sports in the future.
