Over the past three days, an atmosphere of excitement and enthusiasm has prevailed at the military enlistment ceremonies in all 63 provinces and cities across the country.

It can be seen that a fairly high percentage of this year's recruits have university, college, or vocational high school qualifications. Looking at a few major cities will make this clearer: Hanoi has over 65%, Ho Chi Minh City nearly 50%, and Can Tho approximately 40%.

Many young people who have stable jobs and decent incomes are putting everything on hold to join the military.

Quite a few pairs of twins from various localities have been selected and are enlisting for military service this year. In Da Nang alone, there are even three brothers who enlisted together in this recruitment drive.

Many women are just as capable as men when they become new recruits; some have made it to the top 15 of a beauty pageant, have graduated from university, and are already working, yet they still volunteer to join the army.

What do these statistics tell us? They highlight the most encouraging sign: the spirit of progress, the commitment, and the readiness to answer the sacred call of the Fatherland.

In each locality, a considerable number of young people have volunteered to enlist in the army, with many expressing a desire to serve long-term. Some localities have received thousands of volunteer applications to join the army during peacetime.

This is how a vibrant and dynamic picture of today's youth is being portrayed. Alongside their outstanding achievements in various fields, not only domestically but also on the regional and international stage, they have made a name for themselves.

These things should give us faith in the younger generation, in a social context where there are concerns that today's youth are only interested in a life of pleasure and pay little attention to current events.

Serving in the military is both a responsibility and a source of pride for many young people and their families. Contributing to the building and protection of the nation should be seen as a mission that motivates every citizen of a country.

Coincidentally, this year's military recruitment season coincides with the launch of Vietnam's Youth Month, a campaign of "volunteering for the community."
