The sacred flag-raising ceremony at the border.
In response to the "March Border Month" program, the La Êê Border Guard Station (La Êê commune) coordinated with the local government and departments, organizations, and associations of La Êê commune to organize a "Greeting to the National Border Marker" ceremony at marker 706, the border point between Vietnam and Laos.
From early morning, nearly 50 officers and soldiers, along with representatives from various forces, began their challenging 5km trek through the forest to reach the ceremony site. Before the sacred landmark on the nation's border, the forces together performed the flag-raising ceremony and solemnly sang the national anthem.
In the majestic Trường Sơn mountain range, every gaze is directed towards the red flag with a yellow star fluttering at the sovereignty marker, expressing the profound pride and unwavering determination of the border guards.
Immediately after the ceremony, officers, soldiers, and participating forces cleaned up the patrol route, cleared the path, and wiped and repainted marker 706. These seemingly simple actions demonstrate the respect and awareness of the forces on the front lines of the Fatherland in preserving each national sovereignty marker.

Lieutenant Colonel Dinh Cong Anh, Commander of La Ee Border Guard Station, said that this is a key activity in the "March Border Month" program in response to the National Border Guard Day and Youth Month 2026.
Through the flag-raising ceremony and singing the national anthem, every officer, soldier, and citizen participating had the opportunity to directly feel the sacred value of every inch of borderland. This was also an occasion to leverage the combined strength of the entire political system in managing and protecting the border, building an increasingly solid all-people border defense posture.
Ms. Briu Thinh Chung, Secretary of the Youth Union of La Ee commune, shared: "La Ee is a locality with many ethnic minorities such as Co Tu, Ve, and Ta Rieng, so this meaningful activity contributes to raising awareness of protecting sovereignty and strengthening the bond with the border villages of the Fatherland among the younger generation."
Many meaningful tasks
In response to the "March Border Program," young people in various localities have implemented many practical projects and activities, contributing to changing the face of rural areas and improving the lives of people in the front lines of the Fatherland.

In Hung Son commune, the Youth Union implemented the "Solar-powered streetlights" project, installing 20 lights along the roads leading to border villages.
Mr. Riáh Dung, Secretary of the Youth Union of the commune, shared that the project not only helps people and students travel more safely at night, but also contributes to ensuring security and order in the border area, while spreading the pioneering spirit and responsibility of young people for the community.
In addition, the Ga Ry Border Guard Station, in coordination with youth union members of Hung Son commune, planted 300 green lim trees to cover barren land, improving the environmental landscape in the border area. The Ga Ry Border Guard Station also donated a portable speaker system worth 7 million VND to Put village.
Ms. Coor Thi Ich, Head of Put village, expressed: “The loudspeaker system is very convenient, helping us organize village meetings and disseminate important information to the villagers more quickly and clearly.”

In La Êê, the Youth Union mobilized its members and young people to work together to build a toilet facility at the Đác Ngol village cultural house, while also organizing environmental cleanup, planting and caring for trees, and beautifying the landscape.
In the Co Tu Traditional Village (Tay Giang commune), youth union members planted over 5,000 peach and plum trees, contributing to greening barren land and creating a sustainable ecological landscape. Meanwhile, the La Deee commune Youth Union implemented the planting of a "Youth Tree Row" leading to the commune's administrative center, creating a green, clean, and beautiful focal point for the central area.
Beyond specific projects and tasks, propaganda and education efforts are also emphasized. The Son Tra Border Guard Station, in coordination with the Ly Tu Trong Secondary School's Youth Union (Son Tra ward), organized a Border Guard lesson with the theme "Children and the Sea and Islands of the Fatherland," attracting over 800 students.
Through this activity, the students learn about the history and glorious traditions of the Vietnam Border Guard, thereby raising their awareness of maritime sovereignty and the responsibility of the younger generation in protecting the Fatherland.

Captain Ly Son Hai, a member of the Executive Committee of the Youth Union of Son Tra Border Guard Station and Head of Border Control Station No. 15, said that through the Border Guard lesson with interactive question-and-answer sessions, students gained a better understanding of the glorious history and traditions of the Border Guard, thereby enhancing their awareness of protecting the sovereignty of the country's seas and islands. The younger generation is the one who will continue this mission, so equipping them with knowledge and love for the seas and islands from today is extremely important.
In Thanh Khe ward, the Ward Youth Union, in coordination with Phu Loc Border Guard Station, organized the "March Border Month" program focusing on the homeland's seas and islands. Within the framework of the program, the youth of the two units presented many practical gifts to disadvantaged fishing households, visiting and encouraging them to confidently continue their fishing activities.
